Best valued Creatine I have brought to date and it works out cheaper than Monohydrate in the long run, as you use less per serving per day and thus it will last you over twice as long. Also noticed strength gain after only 1 week of use! The only downside is it's "unflavoured" taste (it's rank, but just neck it), either way, I will still only buy the unflavoured version, as you get more Creatine per serving, instead of flavourings added.
Firstly the bad: when Creatine Ethyl Ester HCL is mixed with water, it's like trying to drink down a bottle of bleach with potassium powder and salt added; less than pleasant! It won't make you gag, it will just make you wonder if it's suitable for human consumption and force you to pull contorted faces, like licking a lemon while rubbing salt in your eye. However, if mixed with blackcurrant squash it seems to become far more tolerable. Don't try adding it to a protein shake though, it just makes it worse! Now for the good: Having used this for a couple of weeks now, taking one scoop a day, I have noticed some decent increases in muscular endurance. Not so much strength itself, but I'm able to keep the same weight going for more reps/ sets than previous. It's definitely a noticeable increase, and certainly worth the the money I paid for it. To conclude; if you don't mind drinking bleach, and you've hit a plateau, then this is a worth while purchase. If you struggle to chug a regular shake, then don't bother with this!
People need to man up. Yes it taste really bad but if you want a nice drink go to McDonalds and order yourself a milk shake. I get this stuff for results and it has been proven to work.
Just a quick review. I've used Creatine Monohydrate before when I last took my physique seriously (life has since got in the way) and I'd always end up with stomach cramps. It generally just made me feel poorly. It effects, however, were noticeable when going for those last few reps. This stuff, however, is a lot lot better. No loading phase, and I believe it works better. It could all just be in my head though, but it's at least as effective as the monohydrate. It requires no loading, and I have no stomach upsets with it - so it's far preferable to the traditional creatine. One thing though, that has been said plenty, is the taste. Not that is should matter, as this job of these supplements is not to taste good, nor is it designed to get any Michelin stars, it's to help you gain the best from your training. However, that being said, this stuff is definitely one of the harder things to get down your throat. I've tried different ways to get it over and done with quicker - even just spooning the powder into my mouth and washing it down with fresh orange - in the hope to get it over quickly (bad idea by the way!). I've tried mixing it with a freshly brewed, and cooled, espresso - hoping that the coffee bitterness would mask it - no luck I'm afraid. Tried mixing it with shakes, milk, juices, etc. The most palatable method for taking this, for me anyway, is simply dissolving the correct dose completely in about 50ml of water. Stir it until it's clear, it'll only take a minute, then take it down like a shot. I'm guessing that with it being completely dissolved, it is picked up less by your taste buds, as it's definitely more palatable than any other way - although it's still rank. Anyway, if you have a sensitive stomach, as I do with IBS, then you'd be best using this over the monohydrate. The lack of a loading phase is also beneficial. And if you really can't cope with the taste, there's always the capsules - at a massively inflated cost per dose compared to the powder - but it's regularly on some form of promotion. I've yet to try the capsules, but I fail to see how they'd be any less effective. Goes Well With:Nothing, but gets as good as it gets dissolving in about 50ml of water.
This product overall is great. Very effective and very cheap in comparison to other brands.... as always great value from myprotein. I never ever usually moan about taste in any supplements sometimes you get some that taste bad sometimes you get some that are enjoyable but generally it's never bothered me..... However.... To sum it up....If AIDS had a flavour this would be it..... I have had various concoctions in my lifetime... this is certainly up there with one of the worst tastes I've experienced ... Goes Well With:Anything strong enough to mask a potent flavour.
The best form of creatine I ever try withot stomach cramps like with creatine monohydrate. No loading like creatine monohydrate and water retention. I have try all forms of creatine but Creatine Ethyl Ester is the best and effective. Goes Well With:Arginine
"This is the worst thing i have tasted. No matter what you mix it with, it still tastes like washing powder . I've been taking creatine for about 14 years on and off, and this stuff is terrible. I just started it, so i'll comment again as soon as i know if it has any effect."
Definitely works and feel stronger. On its own tastes terrible, but worth it. Mix it with my protein shake, and is a little bit better, not much! Lol but definitely worksGoes Well With:I use with vegan blend
It mixes very well without any of the grittiness of creatine monohydrate that I've used before. However it is the most bitter substance I've ever encountered. Goes Well With:Drinking quickly
It works amazingly well and that's all that matters! Worst thing I've ever tasted but for the 5 seconds it takes to swallow it's 100% worth it. No upset stomach like with monohydrate and highly noticeable increase in power when lifting. Goes Well With:Nothing can possibly make this taste good.
Taste and mixability is something that is not a problem. Just mix with your normal protein shake. Effectiveness is ongoing with the training i am doing. Second day Doms non existent, being able to push harder during the training is a notably better. Would buy again.Goes Well With:Coconut milk Pea protein Flavour drops, banana, vanilla raspberry etc.
My advice to get around the horrible taste is to bomb it. Buy rice paper -> break into 4 -> wet 1 quarter of the rice paper and place on a plate -> add scope of creatine -> fold rice paper around the creatine -> place on tongue -> drink water. No foul taste! Great product, noticeable increase in strength after 2 weeks. Goes Well With:Rice paper!
This is the most discusting tasting creatine supplement ever, however seems to work quickly.ive been taking with orange juice but have struggled with the aftertaste.this morning I added honey and was surprised to find the aftertaste not as bad.
Very effective and cheap in comparison to similar products of other brands. Very bad taste because it's an Ethyl Ester version and this is totaly normal ... never bothered me. I put it in capsules Vcaps00 and drink them with water so no need to taste anything.Goes Well With:Vcaps00
I normally purchase the regular MP creatine Monohydrate every month but tried this for a change as it was part of one of MP's amazing deals. I had a choice between the batch tested creatine (better quality than the regular creatine I have been told) or this product (which is supposed to reducing bloating). Whilst I love the gym lifestyle I love my food to much to ever be the guy with the best abs in the room but thought I'd give it a try. Whilst I have never been worried about bloating before I can attest that this does make a small difference in bloating compared to the regular MP creatine. The only downside though is that it tastes absolutely awful. I'm not one to complain about the taste of supplements typically as I don't buy them for the taste but this is just the worst. I normally put my leftover previous months products in the new order I receive -it ain't happening. I would normally put this in a shake in the morning and after the gym -it ain't happening. I'm impressed with the results and will continue to use in the future but without mixing it into another supplement and just bolt it with some strong cordial.Goes Well With:Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
I have not taken any supplement except for protein whey, but i started a low calorie diet and felt i needed something to stop muscle loss during this phase. The results have been good with increase in strength rather than the expected decline because of the diet. The downside to this products is its taste, would purchase tablet form next time.Goes Well With:mix with yoghurt it helps
Dispite the battery acid like taste of the unflavoured creatine, it does exatly what it says on the package. Mix it with a bit of juice and it helps with the taste but overall its a great product.Goes Well With:Whey Protein
Tastes awfull so add to a shot of ribena or lime juice cordial allow it to soak up some juice and shot it can barely taste it Goes Well With:Taurine
Despite the taste this is by far the best creatine version existing which also mixes excellently. The taste is well.. just the taste, trust me it's absolutely bearable if you phisically pinch your nose before lifting the glass to your mouth and release once you've swallowed and the glass is away, only a little bitterness is left in your mouth. I totally recommend the product and the method :) Goes Well With:Water, pinched nose, sore muscles.
Been using this product for 2 weeks now combined with l-arginine alpha keto 1 hr before and post workout on an empty stomach and have noticed a considerable difference in strength and size of pump. Apart from the taste it appears to be working like a gem. Want def buy again. Goes Well With:Nothing - just water for fast Absorption. Just have a clean glass of water on hand to wash the taste away.
