"When I read some of the other reviews here I was worried that the flavour would be bad. I was tentative the first time I used it and decided to mix it with just water so that I would get nothing but the full flavour. To my utter surprise, it tasted fine. The flavour isn't strong enough to have a reaction to. Maybe MyProtein have recently changed this product or some people are just a bit girly and every food stuff that passes their precious lips needs to be a taste sensation. Either way, I love this stuff and have already recommended it to some of my personal training clients."

"Biggest mistake I made was buying this over standard whey protein. Its utterly utterly disgusting, and has an overpowering taste which is very hard to mask. Also it doesn't mix well at all, leaving you feeling like you are drinking sand. Horrendous."

"When I turned Vegan, my first concern was protein. Of course all new Vegan/Vegetarian first look to Soya. Obviously after some research, and the fact that soya made me stupidly bloated, the best way of acheiving this was to mix pea, hemp and brown rice protein. This way you actually getting a much better profile of amino acids than you would if taking Whey. The profile is also higher than lean beef protein. I have done the Math. I go longer working out due the fact that my diet is more alkaline too."

"This protein is vile. It doesn't mix well (needs a lot of shaking) and foams quite a bit with milk. This unfortuantely is not the worst part. The taste and smell are disgusting. I have to hold my breath when I drink it and try to just gulp it down without tasting it. Do not believe those five star fake reviews, this stuff tastes horrid. Sure it is a good protein if you just look at the nutritional information and it has no added artificial anythings, but be warned."

"'m 80% vegan and this organic brown rice protein is the perfect non-diary supplement. I performed very well on this better than whey and I have more oxygen capacity due to the fact that it is more alkaline than acid. The more alkaline your body is the more oxygen you can use. A suggestion to make a delicious protein shake after a workout is to mix 2 cups of coconut milk, 1 large chopped pear and 2 tbsp of brown rice protein (24gm of protein). Blend well and enjoy. "

"I really like this stuff, there are several people complaining about it being 'gritty' however this is a mild short lasting effect and nowhere near as unpleasant as the gloopy, bulking effects of some powders. The taste is pleasant and goes well with a range of mixers, shakes up really well in a smoothie, ribena or apple juice and is excellent with oats. No obvious problems with digestion and definitely less offensive than other protein powders. Good results too, I'm cutting and it seems to support this well."

"Brown rice protein is FANTASTIC overall (except one little gripe - read on), especially for people coming from the RAW food movement or VEGAN movement who also want to benefit from weight training and all its associated benefits. Big plus is that it doesn't contain animal products (see books on ""China Study"", ""RAW for 30 days"" etc - I'm no hippie tree-hugger but I try to phase a high animal protein diets with raw vegan diets throughout the year) and its amino acid profile is very good do you can easily integrate it into a VEGAN or RAW bulking/cutting program. Only gripe is the mixability/texture. If just mixed by hand with water it has the consistency/texture of coarse baby powder and saw dust which if you drink it gets stuck at the back of your throat. If you use milk to mix it then obviously you're going to get a better mix. Cutting it half/half with commercial protein powders does help but again, unmistakable. Perhaps using a blender would give better results but, until then it gets 4 out 5 because of the mixability/texture issue, otherwise great product. Oh and it agrees wholeheartedly with my intestines, no problem there."

The taste is fine and I look forward to the rice protein shake... I use skimmed milk. Everyone is different but I like the taste and I do not find it gritty. I have felt better since drinking it and feel stronger when exercising. I am a vegetarian and my previous protein daily intake was minimal. Also I have actively lost weight recently and I decided on a protein supplement because I do not want my muscle protein to be depleted and hopefully this will retain my muscle tone and mass.

"I found this rice protein after seeing a few reviews on body-building sites and I can say I am fairly impressed! As a vegan moving on from pea protein I knew nothing could taste worse. I loved the taste of hemp protein but the cost and protein content just wasn't good enough. The rice is somewhere inbetween. Its nice enough to be fine with just milk, with a sort of nutty flavour, but it isn't delicious. Even though everyone says its gritty I still wasn't prepared for it, though if it puts you off completely then you probably are a giant wuss. I blend mine with whatever plant-based milk I have at the time, oats, some omega oils, shelled hemp and a bit of cocoa and it comes out lovely. I definitely feel like my recovery time has improved so I will be sticking with this product for the time being! "
