    Overview

Grape Seed Extract is derived from the small seeds (and sometimes the skins) of red grapes, they are actually the same grapes pressed to make wine. Grape seed extract is high in the flavonoids oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC). These flavonoids have excellent antioxidant properties at levels that some consider to be much greater than the old favourites Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Beta-Carotene.

When Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Beta-Carotene are used as an antioxidant they are not powerful enough to fight the free radicals that circulate the body. Grape Seed Extract, is different. It has been shown to remain in the body for as long as 72 hours, and is also 20 times stronger than Vitamin C, and 50 times more potent than Vitamin E.

Our Grape Seed Extract is standardised to 95% oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC). OPC is claimed to be one of the most important natural products to be discovered in the last several years. These flavonoids are currently being touted as some of the most potent free radical scavengers.

    Key Benefits

I use 2.5 g per day split into 2 doses as detailed above when training (4 times per week) not taking any on my non training days. Overall my sex drive, stamina and recovery have rocketed due to the anti -estrogenic effects provided by the dose I am taking. Having researched Grape Seed Extract there is currently no reccommende maximum dose. However, I have yet to experince any negative side effects.
    • Goes well with which Myprotein products:
Pre workout Shake: I use 1.5g GRAPE SEED EXTRACT mixed with half scoop of exceed, 3 g AAKg, 3g Beta alanine, 10g leucine, 1g Tyrosine as a pre workout shake - pump and energy levels hit a new high. Post workout Shake: 1g GRAPE SEED EXTRACT mixed with 40g whey protein isolate, 10g leucine, 5 g glycine, 5 g creatine, 15 g colostrum - very swift recovery, noticeable strength increases in short period.

I appreciate it is said to be one of the best antioxidants, but it tastes so horrid I had to bin it in the end after many attempts to persevere. Tried to mix it with water in a shot glass and have all at once, still felt sick in the stomach after that. Would definitely buy it again, but only and exceptionally if it is sold in capsules as it was simply unbearable to consume as is - so bitter and binding as if the tongue is tyred up in a knot.

It's hard to say if this product had helped me in any way I would notice though this is known to be a powerful anti-oxidant, said to reduce oxidative stress on the body etc, which is all good. Personally, if I am honest, I'd much prefer to buy this product (with the horrid taste) sold in caps as capping this powder for myself can get quite messy and consuming this power as it is, can be quite difficult for its gross taste.
    • Goes well with which Myprotein products:
Only to be consumed in veg caps. One of the worst tasting copper colour powder.

My top tip is to get a shot glass, fill with liquid, measure and tap it onto the surface of the liquid - it floats - and then knock it back like a shot. It's 99% taste free once you smack it back. This is an excellent antioxidant but the taste might hold some back from gaining the amazing benefits.

I started using an approximative dosage comprised between 800 mg and 1200 mg of grape seed extract 1 month ago mixed in 300 ml of slightly warm water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. I had a voricose problem on my right calf after 1 month I have no more pain and it is lmost impossible to notice teh vein. And it can seem weird, but I recover much better since I take this extract. I also take some white and green tea extract everday, but I could definetely feel an improvement from taking this additional extract. But tastes yakkkkkk ! ! !
