Homemade Salsa

 

If you’re looking for a clean healthy dip for your veggies or a tasty sauce for your meals this homemade salsa is perfect for you! Forget the processed shop bought jars- make your own in a matter of minutes!

 

What you’ll need:

 

Now you can adapt this recipe and the ingredients used depending to your personal taste, for example if you don’t like a spicy kick you may want to leave out the chilli pepper, or if you like to experiment with herbs you may want to add your own! So here’s what you’ll need:
Half a tin of chopped tomatoes
2 cherry plum tomatoes
3 small beef tomatoes
1 green chilli pepper
2 tablespoons of red or white kidney beans
½ a pepper
½ a small white onion
½ a small red onion
1 large clove of garlic
Salt and pepper.

The Preparation:

 

Chop up all your tomatoes, garlic, onions, peppers and chilli (careful not to tough your face or lick your fingers!). For the most exciting salsa use a rang of different tomatoes you can add orange yellow and red! If chopping tends to be a culinary challenge and a safety hazard an easier way to finely chop all your vegetables is to chip into large chunks and use a food processor to pulse the mixture.
Add in your chopped tomatoes, white kidney beans, salt and pepper… sounds a bit strange I know, but if you like a sweet salsa, try adding a spoonful of sweetener!

 

The Eating:

 

This salsa if perfect for a healthy snack with raw vegetables or adding to Tuna burgers, Chicken burgers, salads, veggie burgers or even vegan falafel burgers!
