I only ever have sugar in my first cup of tea in the morning but this Xylitol is a great replacement. It tastes good and mixes in well and is also good with coffee
Tastes very sweet, exactly what I was looking for. But the mixability is poor, mainly due to its form, small granulates. Ive found a way to make it better! Grind them in a coffee grinder, it makes a great powder which mixes a lot better! Now I can finally make my own 90% chocolate with less sugars. Maybe an idea for MyProtein, start selling already grinded version.Goes Well With:Everything, if grinded :)
I love this stuff. I am a real sugar fiend and find I just can't give it up, then I found this. I can't get on with other sugar substitutes as they leave a horrible after taste but xylitol tastes just like sugar and I can't tell the difference. I would highly recommend to anyone like me who just can't kick the sugar.
The Xylitol seems quite expensive compared to the brand 'Total Sweet', which is available in Sainsburys, H&B, etc in bags of about 250g. Total Sweet is more coarse, and hence less clumpy in my opinion. I have found that xylitol will not dissolve in fat, so if you want to make your own sugar-free chocolate with it, you'll need to be a bit more resourceful than just mixing cocoa solids with it. However, it works really well as a direct replacement for sugar in cake recipes.
I bought this Xylitol as an alternative to sugar to use for myself to help keep sugar and fat content down. It's also for my wife who is type 2 diabetic. It looks just like sugar tastes just like sugar, and is great. The only noticeable difference is that it is a bit more clumpy than sugar but this is not a problem.Goes Well With:Anything
"And polyols tend to give you the polytrots if consumed in excess. 'tol' is an acronym for 'Time On Loo'! (i.e. that's where you'll be spending most of your time if you consume too much!) I have IBS, and it does tend to affect me, which is why I tend to only use Sucralose (Splenda) which is what MP uses to sweeten its flavoured protein powders (probably for that very reason as we all probably consume more protein shakes than anything else - and it'd be pointless attempting to train!)"
Bit clumpier than the more expensive Xylitol products on the market (which are VERY expensive) and not very sweet. Very few alternatives though and I'm intrigued by its potential dental properties....
I only general use sugar for having a brew. This stuff tastes exactly the same as Surose. Unfortunately it does tend to clump alot. But thats about the worst of it. Did a blind taste test with a few people and nobody has noticed the diffrence. Good stuff.
