I used to always skip breakfast but this is incredibly easy and fast to make, plus tastes pretty good. I did have some lumps in it the first couple of times, now I make it the night before and leave it in the fridge. One more shake in the morning and has seemed to give 100% no lumps + nice and cold.
I can't do breakfast really early in the morning, it's just hard work. But being a firefighter on shift I needed something that got me through most of the morning. And this does exactly that! Even to the point the Mrs (who's a nurse) has started using it too, and they do a real job! Taste is slightly artificial and you can can taste the sweeteners, but overalls its not too bad, just like milkshake (we have the strawberry one) and it does keep us going from 6 until 1030 as we use half portion size. When it comes to mixing its ok, I got the shaker with the ball in at the same time and milk goes in first then powder then ball. It mixes fine. What I've found works best is to mix it before bedtime and place in the fridge and then re shake prior to having it. This not only gives it more chance to mix, but chills it and allows the oats to soak up some liquid, thickening the shake and making it smoother than mixing and consuming straight away. I liken it to Angel Delight before it has set, or runny porridge. I am ordering the chocolate and banana ones now due to how impressed I am with it. It helps a lot in the morning and keeps me going!Goes Well With:Milk Didn't enjoy with water but that was the first attempt without being left overnight.
To be honest, when I first tried this I was not too keen and it was very thick when mixed at the minimum water recommended. The next time around i mixed one scoop with 300ml of water and it mixed perfectly and tasted fantastic (with milk it is even better). As a breakfast replacement it is ideal, it gives a decent serving of protein whilst keeping the calories low and keeps me full until lunch (breakfast at 0800, lunch at 1300). As for effectiveness, I cannot really say if it has contributed anything. But on a cut it has served to reduce my hunger so I guess it has helped to stay in a calorie defecit. I'd recommend this to others :)Goes Well With:1 scoop & 300ml milk or water (or 2 x scoops and 600ml water or milk for full recommended serving size). This gives me a milkshake type consistency, less liquid results in a very thick shake that is not far off being like whipped ice cream.
I have the chocolate smooth every morning for my breakfast. It fills me up and really helps with my energy levels through the morning. It is very sweet by itself, but I add a tablespoon of raw nut butter and it's perfect. I haven't tried mixing it with a shaker, but I use a Breville Active Blend and haven't had a single problem. Outstanding breakfast! Mmmm!Goes Well With:Water, nut butters, soya milk
Wasn't sure whether to eat this with a spoon or drink it! Doesn't mix too bad in a shaker cup and tastes ok but is really thick and I find it hard to drink, but it does keep you sustained for a good while. Probably won't order it again purely for the thickness of it
Vanilla flavour tastes great and mixes well with water. Produces nice thick shake with only the occasional lump.Goes Well With:Water
when I first received it I had to try and I must say I'm glad to have it. It is very good for big appetite and fills you up nicely for three-four hours until your next meal. Recommended and very tasty in strawberry cream flavour.
I read lots of reviews saying how bad the mixability is and didn't know what to expect. I leave for work early in the morning and don't usually have time for breakfast so I saw this as an ideal solution for something to keep and work and have when I get in to keep me going until lunch. I purchased the Vanilla flavour and I think it tastes great. Not too sweet, and i'm nearly at the end of bag now and i'm still not bored of it. As for the mixibility, I don't think it's as bad as people make out. I was never expecting it to be as smooth as a Whey Protein shake because of all the added ingredients - but it's not nearly as bad as some people have said. I use a Protein shaker with water to mix and for me that works fine. Sure, occasionally you do have small lumps in the mix, but that never hurt anybody right? I would recommend this product to anyone, and will be purchasing again. Goes Well With:Water, Milk
I will keep this brief as most other users have picked up on this. Bought the chocolate smooth variation and tastes surprising good. The only issue I have is that it did initially taste a little synthetic and there were a few bits that didn't mix as well as I would have liked (even with the mixer ball). What I will say is that using just one scoop is good enough and keeps me feeling full for about 3.5-4.5hrs. Favourite Recipe (so far): - 400-425ml of water - 1 teaspoon of raspberry jam / plain chocolate cocoa powder - 1 dessert spoon of low-fat natural yoghurt - 1 scoop (35g) of the powder Add first three ingredients first, mix up using the shaker and mixer ball, then add the powder.Goes Well With:Water, jam, yoghurt, peanut butter (MyProtein crunchy edition)
Tried total breakfast, strawberry cream and it does taste as it should, somewhat creamy, great product, excellent slow release energy from the oat flour/fibre, could mix slightly better as sometimes it does have clumps but keeps you full up until lunch. Goes Well With:thermopure
I first decided to try this a month or so ago and have it every day now. I love the banana flavour. I mix it the night before, with 2.5 scoops, an egg white or two, a few spoonfuls of extra rolled oats and topped up with water to make an almost full MP shaker. I mix it until completely smooth with an electric hand blender. This only takes about 20 sec and doesn't make it froth up. Kept in the fridge overnight it's then nice and cool when I'm ready for it.
Never used to take breakfast and then on my work started by eating cakes and croissants. Now I prepare a chocolate Total Breakfast every night, which only takes 10 seconds, and drink it in the morning before heading out. Keeps me "full" for hours and plenty energy for my bike ride.Goes Well With:Just mix it with water.
Great taste , fills me up for mid morning, second breakfast
Perfect for my breakfast smoothie!! Really recommend!
Love the taste, works well for me a busy nurse who gets up at 5.30, I mix in nutribullet so have no problems really. Keeps me going until about 10.30/11 on a busy morning!!Goes Well With:Water for me
The total breakfast is an excellent product. Packed with everything you need for the day, tasted amazing, and is thicker than normal whey proteinGoes Well With:Instant oats
Love this product. I really used to struggle to find something i wanted for breakfast but now i don't have to worry. I bought the vanilla and really like the flavor. I use my blender, simply mix it with milk and have no problems with lumps. such an easy breakfast. on my second bag now! wouldn't go back to normal breakfastsGoes Well With:2 scoops to 400ml skimmed milk - for a thick shake
I lost the fitness bug a few years ago but am now enjoying it again and the range of products has vastly improved, I have Total Breakfast for my early morning break at work and then just some fruit to tide me over till dinner it fills me up and has helped me in loosing almost 10kg over the last few months combined with the diet bundle and lots of exercise! For a completely smooth shake I leave it in the fridge for a couple hours before drinking Goes Well With:With water and milk
Always struggle to eat breakfast as I prefer that extra 15 mins in bed. This shake keeps say those hunger pains till mid day which is really helpful, and makes you feel as if you are eating supper clean. However, the portion suggested is too much both in terms of taste and mix ability.. And I'm a proper sweet tooth. I go for 1.5 a scoop with around 500ml of milk and it tastes awesome, still hard to mix though. But yes, would totally recommend to those looking for a breakfast replacement, as long as you're okay with the odd lump.Goes Well With:Milk
Didn't enjoy this much with water but milk was tasty and so filling! Wakes you up for the first portion of the day! Would buy again although may try a new flavour next time Goes Well With:Milk
I ordered the vanilla flavour despite reviews it doesn't mix well etc however I have found it mixes very easily with my myprotein mini shaker, I use 300ml milk and 1 scoop of total breakfast. Mixes well and very filling. Goes Well With:milk
I tried the banana flavour and it's not bad tasting but is pretty think. I like my shakes a bit smoother to drink usually but this is very filling and packed with protein so it's great as a meal replacement. I use it as my post morning workout drink on the way to work.
This mixes well when used with milk in a blender, it's thick and goes down well but there is a seriously strong taste of banana with the banana flavour I got, just a heads up. But otherwise mixes and tastes great Goes Well With:Milk
2 days in and I'll definitely be ordering this again to be my main breakfast as it goes down a treat. I use a Nutribullet so have no complaints about mixability, I fill the little cup to the max line with water (about 380ml), 70g of this and it's just right for my liking and tastes delicious. Don't be put off by other reviews! Goes Well With:Water
Its a great product. However, mixing up is a problem. tried several ways to get the mix right - cant seem to get rid of the lumps.Goes Well With:Dried Skimmed milk
I have found this product extremely helpful in my aim to gain muscle muscle, it is extremely effective at giving me energy throughout the day, allowing me to perform to maximum potential!
Vanilla's a fairly neutral flavour. I don't want chocolate or strawberries and cream for breakfast! Bring back vanilla!
I've been using total breakfast for 2 weeks now, I can say it satisfies me after lifting the same as a "normal" protein shake would, but keeps me feeling that way for a good few hours. You need some patience and strong shoulders to mix it well but it's ok. Goes Well With:Milk!!
Since I decreased my dose of coffee this is a healthier and better alternative. The taste is fine in my opinion, although it's very subjective. It complete my breakfast well and gives me a nice boost to start the day. I workout the evening after work so I cannot judge its impact on sport performance but it does the job as a nice diet complement. Mixes well, just put the water first then the powder (and not the opposite) and fill half the shaker only. Will dilute fine.Goes Well With:A nice breakfast of cereals.
It's a good product and fills me up every morning but occasionally it gets abit lumpy Goes Well With:Water
Such a good product. Banana flavour is great. Can be tricky to mix unless you have s blender or a vortex shaker. Have one early morning and it fills me up nicely also with the caffeine gives me a good pick me up. Goes Well With:Milk
Been using for over a month and have to say the texture of Banana is great and the product is ideal for anyone who gets up as early as I do for work and just can't stomach breakfast. However, I am now on the Chocolate Smooth favour and it is horrible! Taste is overpowering and incrediblly sickly, almost like drinking brownie batter so be aware.Goes Well With:Milk
Love Total Breakfast, tastes great! Really filling and lower sugars then other shakes on the market. Been taking it for 3 months now and will continue! Awesome product. Goes Well With:MILK!
Really great product, I wanted something which would keep me filled until lunch and this is it. I'm always rushing in the morning so I wanted something quick to make, it's also very nutritious - has a good balance of carbs, protein and vitamins, and tasty. I have the banana flavour which mixes better with milk although I prefer to drink it with water. A way to stop it clumping so much is too fill about a third of your protein shaker first with water and then add your scoops, then top up with water.Goes Well With:Milk or water
This is the first product I've used which could genuinely pass for a milkshake but having been mixed with water. Only issue I've had is that 2.5 large scoops + 500ml water makes such a thick shake it borders on needing a spoon! I now use 1.5 large scoops of Total Breakfast + 1 large scoop of Macro Meal + 500ml of water. Mix it the night before and chill it in the fridge, great for breakfast I have it ever day.
It's big diferent after I drink this shake. More power and energy, more focus.
Purchased as a replacement for breakfast as I rarely get the chance to eat something nutritious and filling. Works wonders - keeps me full easily until lunch time and no snacking in between.
Not my favourite product. I have the banana flavour. Has an odd taste to it which is quite powerful. I also find it very lumpy no matter how much I shake it. I have taken to mixing it in with spinach and fruit to make a smoothie but the taste is quite overpowering. Wouldn't recommend buying.
I like the concept. Have you ever had a protein shake in the morning and wished it filled you up enough so you didn't have to eat breakfast? This is it. It's essentially a protein shake with oats in it, amongst other beneficial goodies like vitamins. I'm on my 2nd batch. First I had Chocolate Smooth, which is a weak chocolate flavour compared to other whey shakes. My current bag is vanilla, which is pleasant but it mostly just tastes like a sweetened version of whatever liquid I used to mix it. Therefore milk is the best option. It's a bit boring when mixed with water. Mixability: I use 2 scoops with 450ml of milk. Mixing starts off fine and dandy but quickly the shake turns into a heavy gloop. Once it reaches that consistency it's difficult to keep mixing it as it's just a lump. You cannot mix this in a blender ball shaker as the blender ball gets stuck. Therefore I highly recommend a Mixmaster, or a shaker that has a grille at the top rather than a blender ball. Alternatively it would require heavy diluting. The consistency while drinking it is like completely smooth porridge. Or like drinking a slightly runny yogurt. Nothing like a normal shake! Despite the oats in the product, there aren't any oaty bits. It has a slight porridge after taste but it's barely noticeable. I really like it. It does set me up well for the day and I find I start getting hungry mid-morning, ready for the next healthy snack. Porridge is easy to make in the morning but with this you don't even have to worry about microwave times. Just Throw it in a shaker and shake. The effort required to shake it up will also wake you up a little. For me it's perfect when the weather warms up. Tip: Do not make this in an electric blender! When you whizz it up and introduce air, it expands massively, like whipped cream. I put 2 scoops with 400ml of milk in a blender and after blending I ended up with over 2 pints worth of aerated gloop. I could only manage a pint of it! Goes Well With:Milk. Does not go well with: A Blender. When you aerate the mix it expands to 3 x the amount of liquid.
If you dont have much time for preparing breakfast this is the right choice! Its easy to prepare, very tasty and keeps the hunger away! I love to make it thicker and eat it with spoon. Goes Well With:Milk
Total breakfast is great for the mornings. It has a great amount of Macros to help get the best start to the day. I mix with an active blender and put in the fridge the night before as it is best served chilled and set in my opinion. It can be as thick or not as you like it just change the measurements. It tastes great with water and other things mixed in such as banana and peanut butter. It is very filling and great when on the go and up and out early. I even have this 45 mins before the gym with half the serving recommendation and a banana mixed in for the energy. Its a lot better than protein bars full of sugars. great product am going to buy again!Goes Well With:water fruit peanut butter
This product tastes good, does make me feel full in the morning and is perfect for a pre uni and pre gym meal, as I often do both early in the day. :) However, it doesn't mix very well. There are bumps, no matter how hard I shake it. and as for the taste, I did kind of expect a richer chocolate taste, since my previous experience provided that. :) BUT it is nonetheless a really good product. I found a way to make it PERFECT for me, so I am still happy. :) I mix it with a banana, cinnamon and milk (preferably vegetable milk - real milk doesn't react well with my skin) :) that with a dash of coconut flour and almonds at the top... a perfect breakfast! :) it has a chocolate mousse feeling then, fluffy and delicious. :) oh and yes... mix it with a mixer and there will be no bumpsGoes Well With:milk, cinnamon, banana, coconut flour, almonds, water also, but mix it with a mixer
Yes, it has some lumps and doesn't mix too good with water (seems to be better with milk) and yes, even when fully mixed it isn't the most pleasant texture sensation But, the chocolate flavour is good and it gives a decent nutrient hit first thing in the morning - doesn't sit as heavy on the stomach as most breakfast shakes. I find I can exercise within 30-40 minutes of taking it with any issues. So mix it and neck it, or lay out the breakfast service and go for the full monty
Doesnt fill me up much. I eat a banana afterwards to try fill the hole. I use the recommendations on the pouch, trust me you need more than 500ml of milk to mix it up. Not terrible, but wouldn't buy again. Chocolate taste is quite niceGoes Well With:Milk, more than it says in the pack
A very nice tasting product which keeps me feeling full till lunch. It is fairly thick but put it in a blender with plenty of skimmed milk and it tastes great. Will be buying more when I run out!!!! Goes Well With:Some times add banana to it and have it in a bowl.
This is very thick my tastes great and keeps me full for hours. I have this every morning for breakfast in chocolate flavour
Mixes well, and fills you up but makes me feel sick for a few hours. Not sure why, won't be buying again
I mixed mine in a blender as past reviews state that it doesn't mix well in a bottle. The consistency is very thick with 400ml of water however it is drinkable. I enjoyed the shake but found the flavour was very mild so I added a few MP banana flav drops from a previous purchase to boost the taste. I could not finish the whole shake in one go so I split it down into two portions one for first thing and the other for the mid morning snack attack!Goes Well With:Water...flav drops. Added a pinch of coco powder to the second half.
I find this product very useful as I normally do not have enough time in a morning to eat a full breakfast. By making this the night before and leaving it in the fridge I can drink it on the way to work, which will suppress my appetite until lunch.Goes Well With:Water
I thought I'd buy this item while it was on offer to give it a try. I normally have porridge and a protein shake in morning, but this is a lot better . its quicker tastier and creamier than other shakes . ive only had banana and its really nice i mix it with water and milk otherwise it gets to thick . its better in a smoothie maker and it fills you up untill dinner , it feels like youve had a large breakfast which i didn't think would happen because basically your just having a milkshake for breakfast.Goes Well With:Nothing great on its own
