A friend recommended this as I often ached quite badly after doing exercise. I had put it down to getting older and maybe doing sports such as hockey and training for a tri at my age wasnt such a good idea.. but NO this does work, I feel great after most training sessions, very little aching and recovery time has really improved.. the only reason I havent given it 5 stars is the taste.. I add a few ice cubes and down as quickly as possible... but that will not stop me from buying it again!!

Put simply it works. A friend recommended this site to me as I was doing Insanity without any protein powders. I was mixing my own concoction of raw egg whites etc. However since taking RECOVERY EVO I find I am no longer craving food throughout the day and my muscles do not feel fatigued the following morning. I am sold. It mixes well and tastes great with low fat milk.
Allows you to recover in hours thanks to the hydrolysed protein and optimum ratio of carbs. For me, it allows me to hit workouts harder (knowing that recovery isn't a big deal anymore) and more frequently. Perfect for those that cannot afford more expensive versions of this such as Progenex recovery or Kratos RX'd recovery. Goes Well With:Water

I bought this as I read many positive reviews, and they havent let me down.Went for a 5 mile run and drank this immediately after running and i felt as fresh as a daisy. Before i would get terrible aches and pains in my calves, but when i run and drink this the pain is non existent.I will admit the strawberry and apple is not a required taste but its really not that bad,and Ive tasted a hell of a lot worse than this one.I would recommend downing it if you are a bit sensitive to odd tastes though.Overall very impressed with this product and would definitely buy it again.I tried it with water, but not with milk as yet, because i prefer a thinner mixture straight after running.Goes Well With:water for me.
This is great, good combo of ingredients. Not sure if it is partly mind over body, but I feel so much better, more relaxed, less achey in the morning after taking this post match. Really easy to fit into the routine as well.

Been using for 2 weeks after training. Have been training for 25 years. This works.
during a recent nutrition review, i dropped the BCCA's, and use this as for an endurance athlete, it has all you need on that front. There are lots of products out there, but why spend more than you need to ?
I don’t like leaving review`s but this time I thought I would i`ve only been taking this evo Recovery supplement for a few days now and i`ve seen big benefits from it already before I started taking it I used to get hunger pains after training & was sore for a few days but now all that has changed so if results keep the same then I will defo order moreGoes Well With:semi skimmed milk
Possibly in my top 5 of worst tasting drinks I have ever tasted (Blackcurrent), its at a point where I am not looking forward to drinking it and try to put it off... But, it works really well - recovery has been ALOT better since tasting this awful drink... My tip, hold your nose and down it! It does the job well!
Good product, taste is ok not as 'fruity' as some other products I have tried. Mixes well with Almond Milk for a post exercise drink. Definitely recommend to all runners.
I have to start by saying that I don't lift weights, nor go to the gym per se. I'm a rock climber, and if anything, the fatigue from a session of bouldering can even exceed the muscle wear that you get from lifting weights. So I needed desperately something that could help me recover from climbing, as a 3 day rest period was sometimes not enough. This recovery protein actually gives you some interesting results. Even though the pain and soreness is not 100% gone (didn't expect it too anyway), I can definitely feel the difference the next day. Within 2 days after having it I feel like I can go climbing again with ease. As far as mixability goes, I don't know what other people complain about. The strawberry flavour mixes fine with water, you just have to shake it vigourously... after all, it is a "shake". It tastes relatively well too, no complaints there.Goes Well With:Water
Since using this stuff I'm seeing gains week on week and feeling like I can train to my max every day. I was using Hurricane XS previously to this as it's a bit cheaper (I'm a student), but this stuff is well worth the extra money. Absolute class.Goes Well With:L-glutamine, BCAAs, Impact whey protein
Wow, this is a really nice drink. I'm using Chocolate Mint flavour after cycling. It tastes great. It also mixes really well. I used to use Growing Naturals rice protein before and it was really difficult to mix.Goes Well With:Semi skimmed milk
I couldn't care less about taste if the product works, it definitely takes the edge of doms. The fact the apple and strawberry tastes great is an added bonus. Would highly recommend.
I have tried both flavours and I would recommend the strawberry and apple flavour. The blackcurrant smells distinctly like blackcurrant airwave chewing gum. And as a result has a potent flavour. The strawberry one however mixes slightly better and in my opinion smells and tastes nicer. Both work very well. I would personally recommend that they be mixed with milk. I tried the strawberry one with apple juice, it was nice but incredibly sweet. Overall this is a good product :-)Goes Well With:Milk
If you care about performance and effective recovery then this is the only protein shake you should be using after a session. It really hits the spot and I recommend it to all my clients and boot camp members.Goes Well With:My Protein's Pro:long for a real fatigue-buster.
I used to use the whey protein supplement before and after training for recovery and growth but I have decided to change up my supplements by getting the Recovery Evo as my body was getting used to the whey protein. It's only been a week but I can feel some difference to the way my body feels the day after a heavy session. I would recommend that everyone changes from their normal supplements to shock the system and encourage growth.
Recovery Evo is great value for money and great protein. Don't buy from anywhere else. It's 100% reliable and also tastes great.
I have started using this Recovery Evo recently and my aches and pains after a hard workout have reduced significantly the next day, so it definitely works. I also take Micellar Casein before bed which also helps. I do not like the taste though at all. The strawberry and apple taste is way too strong. It does work though so can't complain.Goes Well With:Water
I've always been pretty skeptical about recovery drinks and the theory that you should drink a shake instantly after exercise, Recovery Evo has changed that! I've started cycling a lot lately and my legs were ruined to the point I was struggling up and down stairs the day after a good ride, drinking Recovery Evo after my rides has without a doubt helped with these aches. I am now able to ride every other day without any problems. It mixes really well, doesn't taste bad but to be fair if I want something that tastes good I'd have a beer. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Goes Well With:Semi-skimmed milk.
Tried this a few months back as wanted a complete shake with all the right recovery nutrients needed after training and im impressed. Goes down well after a session without filling you up, this helps to put away a mammoth meal. Its been helping my repair and growth a lot, I have seen great results and progress with the intensity of my workout. Great taste, easy to mix and is a nice change in the summer from The choclates and vanilla shakes we all see. Highly rated! Goes Well With:Water, dont use milk, not the one!
For those of you who are serious about their performance, train hard, and need to recover well before the next session - look no further than this Recovery Evo shake.Goes Well With:Add a banana with it in the blender for an extra blast of carbs.
Decent recovery product - Strawberry & Apple flavour is nice not too sweet, almost refreshing. Giving it a 4/5 as I only buy it when on offer - £20 is a fair price otherwise I would just go for the Recovery XS.
Recovery Evo is a great tasting product.
Recovery Evo is a great product, it tastes great and I will buy it again.Goes Well With:Water
Mixes quickly and effectively with only a few very small lumps, which never seem to mix no matter how long you shake for. But they are not noticeable when you drink it. I still ache for a couple of days after workouts but not as much I think as I would without this. I would probably buy again. The taste is very good, I went for blackcurrant flavour and I think it is probably the nicest tasting protein shake I have ever had.
Previously used Recovery XS but bought this one as it was on offer. A good post gym/run shake if you can't stomach eating straight away and so far has kept the aches at bay. Taste is not brilliant (blackcurrant flavour, for whey-based drinks MP should stick to the usuals like strawberry, banana, chocolate etc) but as a functional product it does the job. Might try mixing it with milk instead of water.
Recovery Evo is a great alternative to a shake. It works well and it tastes like those fizzer sweets I had as a kid!
Well, this Recovery Evo caught me by surprise. I bought this as I am just starting P90X and their workout and recovery drink needs a mortgage to purchase. My advice for this is to try a taste test first before using it in anger. I finished my first workout and tried it for the first time. Although the taste is supposed to be blackcurrant the closest I can think of is Milk of Magnesia (which is normally used to calm upset stomachs). It might have something to do with the fact I workout at 6am on an empty stomach though.Goes Well With:Cardio and rennies
Tried recovery evo to help with my training and others I train (boxing). I have noticed the difference straight away. Boxers noticed also no pain after training great to get more out of them. Cheers.
I bought this Recovery Evo to recover faster so I can work out more during the week. It does what it says it will.Goes Well With:Water or milk
Recovery Evo is an excellent product with great recovery results.
I bought this Recovery Evo to help with the after effects of heavy cardio workouts (into week 3 of insanity program) and it definitely works! I've only had strawberry and apple flavour, and it's a taste that takes getting used to, but after using it for a week or so I actually like the taste! It mixes easily with no lumps.Goes Well With:Water (not mixed with anything else)
Recovery Evo mixes well and tastes great. It's easy to drink straight after training rather than a thick shake.
I started using Recovery Evo the second week in on my P90x program, the first week I was in a world of pain, the workouts are crazy hard! (Impact whey was just not enough). I started using Recovery Evo after the more intense workouts and it really helped with soreness! I've been using this stuff ever since! Don't be put off by the high calorie/carb content, after you have had a gruelling workout your body needs these! But I'm sure you already know that. The added BCAA is also a bonus! This is top stuff! I'm on my second bag of this and swear by it....Goes Well With:Creatine monohydrate
The product is very good. Makes you feel fresh and tastes pretty good. My biggest gripe is that this product really does not mix very well. There are always lumps whichever method you use to prepare and not matter how much/hard you shake. It didn't bother me too much as I'd just bite through these and it didn't taste bad (maybe like a berry?) but it is worth mentioning. I think I will try a different recovery product to see if I can avoid this problem.
Recovery Evo is good but doesn't have great mixability as a few small lumps can still be found. Strawberry and apple flavour is not very pleasant, will not buy this flavour again, I usually buy vanilla which is great. Very effective recovery product. I wake up each morning fresh and painless after an active workout the night before.
I take Recovery Evo post-workout 2-3 times a week and when I do I find that I don't feel exhausted, even after the most intense sessions. Muscle soreness is also greatly reduced. Only criticism is that the pouches are quite small.Goes Well With:Water.
Excellent blend of protein post-workout supplement. It contains the lactose-free form of whey protein and each serving contains generous but sufficient amount of protein for recovery and muscle growth. I have used this product for 6 months and have noticed gradual lean muscle gain. Besides, it tastes great (apple and strawberry flavour) and mixes really well in water. Highly recommended.Goes Well With:HMB
I'm using about 1.5 scoops of Recovery Evo instead of 2 after each heavy workout, that's like 3 times a week. And the results are incredible. Before I used to be very exhausted every evening after lifting, and the next day I was tired as well and felt very sore. After I bought recovery evo, everything changed, I recover much faster, and also feel good in the gym. I find it best to mix with 250-300ml of water instead of 400+, then it tastes much better.
Recovery Evo appears to do the stuff as I'm not aching following a workout. Taste is ok, the first couple of drinks takes getting used to but mixes well without any lumps.
I got the strawberry/apple flavour of Recovery Evo, thinking it would be an interesting taste. The first time I tried it I almost puked. It takes some time to get used to. I can say I am okay with it now. It's effective - I train hard, and I have much less pain than I used to have.
Recovery Evo taste excellent, apple flavour is very refreshing. Easy to mix, taste great, feel good after, I think it does good job.
I found Recovery Evo does exactly what it says on the packet. When I started my workout, I ached like mad, and after I started using this recovery formula, I don't ache at all any more - it is a godsend. I have mine with water and I think it actually tastes quite nice, it's like having a strawberry milkshake and can be quite refreshing! It also mixes very well, you don't really get any lumps in it. I will definitely buy this product again without a doubt! Goes Well With:Water
I started using this Recovery Evo about 5 months back now and can honestly say this has really helped a lot. Very quickly after drinking a feel replenished which is exactly what you want post workout. I am currently cutting weight and can say this product has really helped me maintain as much muscle mass as possible, I highly recommend you add this to you current stacks.
Recovery Evo has just the right amount of all the ingredients you need. I've been using this after very intense or long bike sessions to improve recovery in conjunction with milk protein. It mixes well, tasted good and stores well when mixed in the fridge. Just mix it before you do your session, as if you are like me I don't want to be messing around when I get in!Goes Well With:Milk Protein
This Recovery Evo works perfect, and the taste is awesome with milk or water. I feel great the next morning after a intense work out.
Recovery Evo is a good product that helps me to recover quicker between workouts.
Recovery Evo is an excellent product that really hit the spot. It does what is says on the tin.
Recovery Evo is the best recovery product because it contains the correct nutrients. Yes the taste isn't great - I actually prefer the Strawberry and Apple one. Yes it takes a good shake to mix properly (and this is worth doing as it improves the taste considerably). But, it could taste a lot worse and mix a lot worse and I would still use it because it contains the ingredients I want after a workout and it works.Goes Well With:Fatigued muscles!
Recovery Evo is a very good product. I train 2 to 3 sessions daily so require the extra help from liquid calories. This tastes great, I am unable to have milk... but it mixes great with soya milk and also almond milk. Goes Well With:All
This is my favorite product, I use it after the gym, large cycles or intense windsurfing. In short, I've tried and tested it and it stops you felling terrible the next morning, so you can do some more exercise. I don't find that it makes you big or anything, but it's not supposed too, it helps you recover. I only use it once a day unless I'm totally broken, generally before bed. Tastes fine, I always use a blender bottle with the spring in and it's smooth, I prefer the S&A flavour, with milk it is like a milkshake, very drinkable. That's the girls way of drinking it though. With water it's fine. I think the salts and minerals included are almost as important as the 2:1 ratio. It also helps you diet as it's pretty low cal for so many grams of carb and protein. You get what you need and nothing more. I use a diet whey in the day and this after sport, I find that's a good dieting combo which keeps you from losing muscle mass and helps you fit as much in as you can. Goes Well With:Diet Whey in the morning, this after a workout.
This Recovery Evo product is great it mixes well and tastes fantastic!and ive felt a Massive difference in my Recovery process with this post mix.I feel solid for a longer and much stronger. Goes Well With:water is best not milk.
Perfect product to stash in the bag after a heavy session. Taste is surprisingly good (Apple & Raseberry). More like a juice drink than a shake, mixes extremely well. Very refreshing so easy to neck after the gym compared to a thick milk shake type protein drink. Perfect amount of carbs and protein in the right ratio to maximize your post-workout gains. Add 5g of Creatine and you have one of the best recovery drinks possible. I take whey isolate 45mins before a session, and this imidatley after with Creatine. 30mins later (maximizes obsorbtion) I will have my postworkout solid meal. Great product.Goes Well With:Creatine, l-glutamine.
Best product ever! Mixes great, tastes lovely, very good! it is a shame it's only sold in small packages Goes Well With: Water
The Recovery Evo mixes well and tastes good.
I think I have been spoilt with smooth nice tasting whey protein. I bought this Recovery Evo to help me during/after workouts. It's hard to give a decent review on effectiveness, although I'm sure it would do the job. I only had one shake (couldn't bare to have another). My review is purely in taste/mixing. The taste was horrible - this could just be the strawberry/apple flavour though. I'm sure it mixes as it should although there were quite large bits in it, I'm not sure what it was but made drinking most unpleasant - and much larger than the flax seed you get in other products. So if you can get past taste and a few hard lumpy bits then you'll be okay otherwise I'd recommend something else.
Bought on offer to take after weight sessions, can't review its effectiveness as of yet, only been taking it a couple weeks. Just grin and bear the taste. Goes Well With:working out ;) Supplements: Impact blend + oats (morning and pre workout)
I purchased this and I couldnt wait until I got it through the post and it arrived pretty quickly just in time to use it after the nights workout. And I would say it is pretty good and it does what it says on the tin (packet) Taste - I would say it tastes very nice I chose the strawberry and apple flavour because it was the only one included in the sale and I was very impressed with the taste. I found the taste to be more strawberry based with a slight apple after taste. It is also quite refreshing which I have never had up until this shake so I am very impressed with this. Mixability - I chose to mix it with the mp blender bottle which people have reviewed as very good and I agree but using it with this shake you do end up with a few very small lumps of unmixed powder. Effectiveness - I would say that it works as it should, I used to finish my workout and be absolutely shattered after for the rest of the night however after taking this shake I feel as if it has revived me a little and I feel like I havent done the work out. The only downside is I think that it is more carb based rather than protein based but serves me right I should have read the descriptionGoes Well With:straight after your workout
Bought this product during the sale, if I'm honest I wish I had stocked up. Due to the amount of exercise I do with my football and gym sessions bought this to mix with oats and soy protein post work out. Tastes fine Goes Well With:Myprotein Oats
I have only used this product a couple of times however it is amazing...this weekend I had a BIG weights session, had 2 scoops with water and only felt a little sore the next day. Taste isn't the best but iv been using water not milk so it may teast better with milk. Recommend if you train everyday as well as gym.
Have been using this now for over a week as a post workout shake, very impressed with taste and results. Would recommend and buy again
Fantastic product at a fantastic price
Overall very good product, postage was superb, price fair. After a long session definitely helps, only negative is the taste but only a minor issue just not as good as other products (taste wise)
I'm looking for an increase in mass in my bulking phase (85kg, aiming for 95 before a cut to 90) training 5 days a week heavy, no cardio. now the supplement; I normally buy the standard impact whey, although recently was informed about the importance of carbs after training so as Recovery Evo was on sale i gave it a try. To start with the cost is high compared to basic whey, but in comparison to other all-in-one post workouts is competitive and i feel well worth it! Th effect is fantastic, i've put on a fair amount of good mass and felt less achey the day after a heavy workout to a greater degree than any other protein based supplement. I found it easier than both a whey and some sort of carbs. Personally i add some creatine in each shake for convenience. I prefer it this way so i can control my intake of creatine separately to protein etc. In terms of mix ability is reasonably with the occasional lump, but is expected. The taste is better the less water and goes a little strange with too much. to be honest taste is low down on the list of importance for me as id drink anything if it did the job. Its also worth noting the taste improved for me over time unlike most supplement flavours that a great at first and then decline. goes with; creatine, casein, a standard whey (for other times than post workout), any pre-workout and most importantly (for mass) good carbs (oats, brown rice) and whole food protein (chicken, steak, turnkey and so on)
I got to try this Recovery Evo after I had been going for a run 3 times a week doing about 10k a time as I always felt a bit stiff or sore the day after. I've been mixing this with water and it mixes okay I think and then been drinking it as soon as I have warmed down. I can definitely see an improvement in performance and stamina and you feel perfect the next day so definitely gets a 10/10 from me. I've even ordered another bag. I don't know if I would pay the full price for this but with the results that I'm getting I may have to also try this after a gym weight session with semi skimmed milk. You have to give it a good mix but it works a treat even tastes good in water or milk so give it a try what have you got to lose. The pros definitely outweigh the cons if there is any.
Helped a lot with recovery after a gym session, however it didn't tasted so great when mixed with water. Recommend it though!
Recovery Evo is very convenient as it has all the BCAAs, protein and carbs you need for a post-workout shake. The fine powder makes it very smooth with hardly any lumps compared to many other shakes. The strawberry and apple one is very sweet but not a bad experience. After a pretty intense workout the added BCAAs and carbs do help to reduce the DOMS effect after exercise.Goes Well With:Creatine
Recovery Evo does what it says on the tin... except I wish I had tried the blackcurrant because the apple and strawberry was horrible. I could hardly finish it, then I had a bad stomach and felt sickly. Plus it doesn't mix as well as other supplements but it's still drinkable. Other recovery drinks provide better tastes. If you like the taste it will do the job really well.
I love this Recovery Evo, this stuff is as good as it gets. Regardless of what anyone says, it tastes great (apple and strawberry) with water, and is very similar in taste to Accelerade. It mixes almost flawlessly into a glass using just a spoon to stir. The carbohydrate to protein ratio is appropriate and up-to-date with the literature. In fact, I will go as far to say that this drink is actually refreshing, which is a rare thing for a product in this category.
I've been taking Recovery Evo for 2 weeks now and been back in the gym for 3 weeks. The difference is great and I've had really good results. But it tastes like death when mixed with the recommended 400ml of water but the 30 seconds of yuck is worth being able to move the next day.
"I actually think the strawberry and apple version tastes great mixed with water. To all those people complaining about the simple carbohydrates (maltodextrin and dextrose), that's the whole point! Rapidly-absorbed carbohydrates such as these are the best type to consume after training, since they promote insulin production which stimulates the replenishment of glycogen, and uptake of amino acids, into the muscles."
This is by far the best recovery shake I have ever had. The results are amazing and I have added inches in all the right places through use. It is just a shame that I can not afford it when it is not on sale. A bigger pack is desperately needed as every on else has been begging for. Mixability isn't that big a problem for me. I always use it with milk and it blends well though much better when used with a blender. And I may be in the minority but I love the strawberry & Apple flavour.
"I got this as part of a bundle and I have to say the taste is foul with water. The second time I tried it with milk and is slightly more appealing although still not very nice. The price is expensive for only 16 servings, you can get a lot better products for this sort of money. Why on earth are there no other flavours, I thought I had strawberry but after looking at the packaging again, I realised it had apple with strawberry!? More flavours needed to become a popular product. Unfortunately I will not be buying this product again."
"As quite a few other users have stated; Recovery Evo's biggest downfall is it's price in comparison to Recovery XS. The results are noticeable and this shake per serving delivers everything the body needs after a heavy workout but it's weight and price mean that most people will probably refer back to Recovery XS. Taste is great however I can see how it's not to everyone's liking. Great product, great service."
I'm a fan of many of the My Protein product but I didnt get on well with this one. The protein didnt mix very well and even when I had shaken it correctly I found the strawberry and apple taste not to my liking. I've had other recovery drinks before which I have found to be much more effective and even though this is a nice cheap product I would much rather spend my money on a shake that is actually going to do what it says on the tin.
"Great product, first time I tried the Strawberry & Apple the taste was a bit off putting, I thought my milk had gone off but then it became more palatable the more I used it. Great recovery from it, train 5 times a week and it certainly helps, mixed with a tablespoon of personalised protein powder for even quicker recovery."
"Taste good (Apple and strawberry) and def helps recovery, aches and pains. ALEX NOCK- I would love to see the evidence you have to back up the ""spots due to sugar content""....Not sure your GP would confer with such a statement....."
"Have got the strawberry and apple flavour as part of a bundle and believe that it is a good product, but as with most things it does has its setbacks. I will admit the flavour isn't amazing and get a few powder lumps in the mix, but this goes for most shakes. Just grin and bare it. In all I feel the benefits outweight the cons."
"If you do your research, this product is very good indeed. Hydrolysed whey is far superior and the benefits of BCAAs alone is impressive. For me though, a dextrose monohydrate and maltodextrin blend far outweighs waxy maize starch (in Recovery XS). The research on WMS is sometimes ambiguous to say the least. You get what you pay for (most of the time). As for taste and mixability, this isn't an issue AT ALL and quite honestly shouldn't be for anyone."
"I bought this product to replace my recovery xs and its major issue is for me and 2 others i let try it; it causes spots, due to the sugar content. This product was attractive to me for the hydrolysed whey electrolytes and BCAAs so i now do my own blend of basically recovery evo but -sugar +wazxy maize starch. if myprotien did this i would defo buy it every time!! replace recovery evo with that MP!!!"
"Probably the worst tasting product ever! Got it with one of the bundle's and found it totally vile. Think myprotein should add the recovery xs to the bundle instead & more people will get that bundle as it is great value for money, but this product makes you think twice. Recovery xs if your looking for a great all in one that goes down well!"
Really don’t like the blackcurrant option it tastes like blackcurrant but has a really nasty chemical aftertaste. I’ll be sticking with the strawberry and apple option from now on which goes well with milk or water and tastes like nesquick.
"Having Used Recovey XS for quite a while, and given this a try (halfway through the tub) i'll be going back to the XS on my next order. The Evo still improved my recovery, but for me when 2 products have similar effectiveness i'd rather go for the supp which a) is cheaper per serving and b) has better quality carbs (WMS in XS vs maltodextrin/dextrose in Evo). Evo mixes better than XS, probably due to the different carbs, but wasn't a big fan of the Strawberry/apple flavour. Not usually fussy on flavour but this was very sweet and made me queasy on a couple of occasions. Back to Choc XS for me. "
"Have tried this instead of the usual True Whey as it should be better for recovery. I got blackcurrent, and I really don't like the taste. Mixes well as long as you shake hard. Great formula, and thumbs up for the shake in terms of quality. I do feel however it is a bit expensive. I also think that you should offer bulk discount, or the oppertunity to buy bigger tubs. 1.28 kg doesn't last long and at the price and the 'not to my liking' taste I may continue with true whey and a bananna post workout."
"Just got my first tub, had 1 shake, mixes very well, blackcurrent taste's fine. go's down well. will update more when i've given it more time, but inital recovery was very good."
"I usually use recovery XS and thought I’d give this a go. It smells of strawberries and taste of apples mixes well in the Max Blender Bottle. Recovery times seem to be good and I would say I prefer it over the chocolate recovery XS, but would say you will ether like the taste or hate it."
