Great product, but don't use it alone as per the instructions or you will have a dense slightly flavoured vanilla muffin type thing... my advice is to fold the mix (made with skimmed milk or fat free greek yoghurt) into 2 egg whites, 30g of flaxseed and a few blueberries or raspberries or banana.. and even some almond butter if u have it.. cook at 190oC for 15-20 mins. Makes 6 lovely muffins around 110-160kcal (depending on the fruit) with good macros. Yummmm
awesome product.. it taste awesome by itself, without any additional flavoring. just add water to the dry mix and pop mixture into the microwave oven. love this product. inexpensive and tasty! :)Goes Well With:water
Baked goods are my weakness and I've spent many years learning to bake quite well. Seeing an easy mix option like this made my day and I expected to have to tweak it a bit. - The unflavored taste is simply bland. Unappealing. - Baking requires specifics, and a "scoop" of mix needs to be specified as loose or lightly pressed. Standard baking approach is lightly pressed so that is what I do. - The recommended 100ml milk and 2 tablespoons of oil results in a very dry, difficult to swallow muffin (even with reduced cook time). I have played around with a whole bag of mix and the following adjustments result in a much tastier (without any bad nutrition!), moist, easy to chew/swallow muffin. The following still results in 4x medium-large muffins. - Increase milk to 110ml if using a muffin pan or 120ml if using stand-alone muffin cups (eg. silicon muffin cups) - Increase oil to 3 tablespoons (this kind of oil is good for you, folks!) - Chocolate version: Add 2 - 3 tablespoons pure cocoa (don't use ones with sugar; Green & Blacks cocoa powder is perfect as it is readily available and organic) - Berry version: Add 3 tablespoons of MyProtein Superfood XS. Gives the muffins a very nice berry/fruity flavor plus the obvious nutritional benefits. This makes the mix an unappealing grey color; the muffins cook to a nice golden brown though. - Veg/Greens version: Add 3 tablespoons of MyProtein Total Nutri-Greens. Gives the muffins a very nice veg cake flavor (think bread/cake made with courgette or squash, without the sugar of course) plus the obvious nutritional benefits. This results in the mix being an unappealing dull green-grey color; the muffins cook to a nice golden brown though. Overall, a great product that I will continue to use--just be sure to go with the above tweaks.Goes Well With:Superfood XS, Total Nutri-Greens
I've dabbled with some cake baking in the past, but never got around to making muffins. These are pretty simple to do (though the instructions could be a bit more descriptive): add milk, coconut or vegetable oil and muffin mix to a bowl, mix with a whisk until it thickens, then divide mixture into 4-6 paper or silicone cupcake trays on a muffin tray, put in preheated oven for minimum 12 to maximum 15 minutes. I added some dried pear which made the flavour a bit more interesting. These would be quite plain without some added fruit, or something like ginger. Again, it's too early to tell if these will help with my gains.Goes Well With:a cup of tea after a workout
Read the instructions follow it = results! If add by using coconut oil as shown and add banana is great and use cocoa powder or peanut butter flavour. Mix nuts or dates and raisins to keep it moist. :) defibately 5 stars! And it's healthy too! Already recommend it with other colleagues. Loving it!
Brilliant idea. Very convenient and gives me a good health snack high in protein would be good to know the actual value. At the moment best mixed with 3 eggs and peanut butter (I mix 200 grams with 200 ml milk and 4 tbsp of olive oil with 3 eggs and 2 tbsp peanut butter) taste fantastic and is really springy. Will be buying again would be good if offered a flavoured variety.Goes Well With:Egg l. Peanut butter
This product was really easy to use, the muffins tasted a bit bland so I added some vanilla extract which worked well. These are foolproof if I can make them anyone can!
Received this with an offer and thought I'd give it a go at making some, first batch came out toi dry (too much instant oats) haha. Second batch was on point! Swapped the Nutella for unsweetened cocoa and bish bash bosh! Mix all together with an electric mixer and cook for 10 minutes, literally the easiest thing to make and you can mix it with whatever comes to mind.Goes Well With:Instant oats, cocoa, mixed nuts and white chocolate chips!
I bought this along with the protein pancake mix and i prefer this. It's quick to make, easy to follow, and creates minimal dishes - win! It can take a bit of fiddling with the recipe to get it right. If you make 4 muffins, they rise too much and make a huge mess in the oven, i find that making 6 smaller ones works better, without mess. I use vanilla soya milk to make these, which adds flavour and smells amazing while baking. I tried banana in the mixture but don't recommend as it's a slimy mess and affected how the mixture cooks, leaving me with muffins that were burned on top but raw at the bottom. I've found that using 100g of powder, 125ml of milk, and 2 tablespoons of oil works well, you can also add one tablespoon of mysyrup to add more flavour, great! These make a fab post workout snack, breakfast, or part of a lunch, recommended.Goes Well With:breakfast, lunch, post-workout, mysyrup, soya milk
First time making these and I'm so impressed! Made mine with 2eggs and roughly 100ml milk also added 2 bananas and a tbsp of Nutella, made 8 decent sized muffins (2 would be a great breakfast) texture is spongy but not offensive however tastes fab! Can't wait to play about with flavour, highly recommend great for a change and sweet tooth craving!!! Goes Well With:A cuppa (green tea of course 😜)
I LOVE this muffin mix! I have the unflavoured one and can't understand why people thing it taste bland and dry, each to their own I guess. I have mine plain or with a dollop of Nutella. It is so easy to make and takes no time at all, I make them for my friends and they never complain. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who wants to feel like their being naughty with a treat but are realistically being good-ish : ) Goes Well With:NUTELLA! Honey or chocolate chips.
They are not soft even when lightly baked. Tastes slightly okay but only when just baked. Goes Well With:doesn't, even if you add fruit.
Love this mix! My only advice is add extra milk or they are a bit dry, I add an extra 50ml to mine. These are ace for snacks and there is no much you can add to them. Quick and very easy to make. I made some with chocolate in them over Xmas and family thought they were normal muffins! Lol Goes Well With:Banana and cinnamon
I make these every week. I mix them with flax seeds or chai seeds and choc drops. They are yummy and I don't feel guilty eating them. I use small cup cake cases and I make 6-8 buns instead of 4 as I prefer them smaller and they go further. Goes Well With:Chai seeds flax seeds. Choc drops. Caco powder
Foul tasting, smelling and the textures awful. Yeah sure great for a protein boost but I'd rather have a shake. I tried with vanilla essence and cocoa powder and neither made the slightest dent in the taste. Goes Well With:Nothing
The muffins are easy to make and rise quite well to look like normal muffins. However, they are quite dry and although they say unflavoured they actually taste like golden syrup flavour. They are still a nice treat though but I would definitely recommend having a cuppa with it to wash it down :-)Goes Well With:Mix in some nuts or chocolate chips - or spread something nice I top to take away the dryness
Looking great, nutritional value good BUT taste like pure sugar. Also sugars content are 20% in this product, like we are in 2001 year, and everybody eat sugar. I will not say anything if taste isnt crazy sweet.
Really good mix! The powder mixes well and tastes quite good, I personally prefer to add cocoa powder to get that nice chocolaty taste. Good product, highly recommended. P.S. Of course they don't taste as good as usual brownies with butter, sugar, flour etc.. so don't expect the same taste... but having in mind the ingredients it is still pretty good.Goes Well With:milk, coffee
Was a bit sceptical about this product as I wasn't hugely impressed with the protein pancakes but these were fantastic. Extremely simple to make, taste great and brilliant snack pre or post gym. FYI - if you are going to add fruit to the mix IE blueberries use a little more powder to make the mix a bit denser or all the fruit will sink to the bottom in the oven.Goes Well With:Blueberries, strawberries, chocolate.
Got this mix for a chance to replace the bad stuff I was eating and with this I am able to not feel guilty. Also great snack before training.Goes Well With:My protein penitent butter
I added some coco powder to the muffins and coconut oil just as suggested. The muffins were ok when they came out of the oven, i let them cool for a couple of hours but they were so dry it felt like i was eating carton. I ended up soaking every bite in milk just so the protein doesnt go to waste because GAINSGoes Well With:Milk
Very quick and tasty smash it in ya never meant to be alacha dining cheated with a little splash of coco powder excellent Goes Well With:Training hard
Nutrition values in this are not the best. Neither is taste or mixability
This is more of a question but is it 38grams of protein per muffin or per 4 muffins
Really nice muffins, but need to tweak the recipe as other reviews say. You can mix stuff like coco powder to the mix and berries etc, to give the muffins a better taste. One thing I stress is that when you eat these, have a drink with you, because these are so dry and will definitely get stuck in your throat!Goes Well With:A cup of tea
I add a little cocoa powder and grate 4 squares of Ritter Sport chocolate (with biscuits and nuts) and results are as tasty as any bought muffin but texture cannot be as light and moist as bought muffins, but still very pleasant. I make 6 muffins with 100g of powder. Feel stronger replacing biscuits with my morning and afternoon coffee with these, and it works out a lot cheaper than any bar as one bag makes me 60 muffins!Goes Well With:Impact diet whey
These muffins are quick and simple to make. They're really easy to mix; and bake in just 15 minutes or less. The plain version of the mix can be pimped by adding simple flavourings like vanilla, lemon zest, etc. The muffins when made are only 80 cals and a great option when you're looking for a sweet treat with a shot of proteinGoes Well With:Myprotein shakes
I thought some cocoa helped a bit with the flavour, but really they were dry and still tasted like boiled leather... I'll try adding some fruit next time, but I am realising that high protein cakes are not for me...Goes Well With:the inside of a swing bin
Bit dry but good, tastes like a regular snack and super good to fix cravings or before the gym for a boost! The pack says to split the mix into 4 but when I did this they grew like mad and joined together ! So I split the mix into 6 now. Good product. Goes Well With:Cocoa powder, dark chocolate
I bought this after buying the my protein muffins that were already made and enjoyed them. I thought I give these a try. I must say really easy to make. They taste a bit dry but if you don't add flavour to the mix they are good.Goes Well With:Cinnamon, or other my protein whey mix
I don't usually post reviews for products so it is tribute to how impressed I am by this product that you are reading this! Easy to make, easy to bake and tastes great, what's not like? And helping me get a good hit of protein too? Signed, sealed, delivered! Goes Well With:I mix with the protein milk to increase protein hit even more.
Really good and pleased with this product. A little dry though!
Great product! Easy to mix and bake! And taste lovely! I add mixed spice or ginger etc to them to add flavour, and putting a bit of fresh banana on top once you put them in the cake cases. A tad dry but you can personalise them to your own taste by adding stuff to make them less dry. :) a guilt free snack too which is great! Goes Well With:Spices. Fruit
This product has an ok taste, burns very quick and soon as the taken from the heat they sink in the middle and make me look like a poor baker :( I won't be buying this again, so glad I only bought a sample pack!
These muffins are beautiful and so easy to make x
This is brilliant. I've been trying to perfect a protein bun/muffin thing for a while using all sorts of methods. This is by far the best and easiest. I made them plain with sunflower oil as this is tasteless (I don't like coconut.) This plain mixture tastes nice and sweet, a bit like a basic fairy cake type thing. I add some glazed cherrys to the top before putting in the oven, they sink in and add to the taste. Overall very impressed and will be buying loads more.
Good product but not great. It's very easy to mix and use but I think it will be key to add a few extras to suit your taste. If you are looking for something sweat I would try the chocolate mix or even the pancakes. Good product but will just give you a base mix to work with.Goes Well With:Blueberries, chocolate
I've only made one batch they do look a little weird but taste great, I mixed with cadbury highlights which added a nice chocolatey taste to them. I did leave them slightly gooey in the middle not sure if id that again tho, they tasted great hot but the gooeyness wasn't as nice cold. The batter mixed well and took no time at all, I love the my protein cookies but they can work out expensive so these are a great addition to my diet as they work out a lot cheaper but also taste good, they will definitely stop a late night sugar craving but won't damage your goals which is a massive plus for me.Goes Well With:Skinny vanilla latte
These are really great you can keep the calorie count low on them and avoid the oil if you mix with 100mls of dark chocolate almond milk to 100grams of the muffin mix. I also add approx. 30mls of the walden farms pancake syrup, 30 grams of the walden farms chocolate and peanut butter spread, 10 grams of coconut flour and 10 grams of stevia… I have a fan assisted oven so I find that if I cook them on 145 degrees celsius for 20 minutes they are perfect. The mix should make a total of four muffins weighing approx. 70 grams each. if you buy individual non-stick muffin trays and use a small amount of the 1 cal olive oil spray on the tins they never stick specially if left to cool before removing them. I tried them on a couple of my friends and family and they couldn't tell that they where protein muffins. Will be ordering them again there a fab snack.
i bought this mix to try and squash the sweet cravings in an evening and to help boost my daily protein intake. The mix by itself is good, however not amazing taste. i tried mixing in a flat table spoon of coccoa powder which worked great and added very little calories to each muffing. I have also added peanutt butter which is my favourite and tastes great. overall a great product and will buy again!Goes Well With:peanut butter/coffee
Dident think much if this muffin mix doesn't make very good muffins nothing like pre made not enough baking skills to make perfect they stick to the paper muffin cups badly there not very healthy either but a good cencept just not for me i had unflavoured and tried mixing other flavouring and other protein to it but not great success also the mixture they say to use is wronge have to tinker to make perfect consistency also add extra flour so they dont drop after cooking Goes Well With:Milk
I love this mix, I make about 6 muffins at a time and eat them within 3 days. It is great to have them "on-hand" when I forget to eat and than the low suggar levels strike, the muffins help me avoid junk food and candy. I have to point out that the muffins, if made as per original recipe, are quite "dry" tasting so I love to throw a few pieces of a bannana in the mix before baking. Would probably work also with some other fruits, but haven't tried anything else yet.Goes Well With:banana
Suprised at how good these were but definitely don't leave in the oven too long and the oil addition is essential as they would be very dry. The unflavoured type means you can pretty much make them any flovour you like.Goes Well With:Vanilla, date & walnut; cacao powder and cocoa nibs; lemon zest & poppy seeds
Bought this for my boyfriend just as something different and he really loves it! It makes a nice change from usual protein shakes and bars when you need something on the go or as a snack. Mixability is good, you can add blueberries, banana or vanilla to change up the taste. Even just leaving it unflavoured doesn't taste so bad (however is quite dry like this). Has a high about of protein and doesn't take long at all to make. Definitely recommend. Goes Well With:Vanilla, banana, blueberries
It is a great idea and a decent product but I was very disappointed when I opened the mix as it was unflavoured. The picture shows chocolate muffins so I wasn't expecting them to arrive unflavoured. It is good to add chocolate chips to them. Look forward to a chocolate Protein Muffin MixGoes Well With:Almond Milk
This is a fun way to pack more protein in, especially if like me you are very limited in the amount of food you can eat in one day. I found that one mixture as outlined on the packet made 12 muffins the size of standard British fairy cakes, ie. about half the size of a normal muffin. The size could probably be increased a little by whisking the mixture as it holds air very well. Instead of the coconut or vegetable oil stipulated I used butter as it was all I had to hand and it worked perfectly. The texture when baked is lovely, both spongy and robust, definitely muffin-like rather than cake-like, and the taste is very, very similar to custard, in my opinion, which I love, and it does make sense given the ingredients. I have given 5 stars for "Effectiveness" because they are a perfect dessert subsitute for me, and feel filling without being heavy, which is what I would expect from a protein-rich food; the mark isn't reflective of any long-term results.
Wow. I add a generous amount of coco powder to make choc flavour. I know coconut oil is healthy but I use EVOO as you can't taste this, whereas coconut ends up being all you can taste. My favourite thing to do is make the mix up with milk and coco powder, no oil and just eat/drink. The mix is heavenly.
Quick, tastes awesome if beefed up a bit with coco powder etc, bit of vanilla, well nice. Pretty healthy for a muffin and packed full of protein. Cheap as well, can't fault them really.Goes Well With:coffee and hard work
Excellent value for money and great tasting. Well done my protein!
