L Leucine is an essential amino acid that is broken down in to fat structures. As an essential amino acid it cannot be made by the human body and, therefore, must be consumed through food such as nuts, brown rice and whole wheat bread products or dietary supplements. In total, L Leucine is around eight percent of the total amino acid count in your body's protein structures. It is also the fourth most concentrated amino acid in your tissue.
As one of the three essential BCAAs, L Leucine is essential to your basic health. The primary athletic functions of L Leucine are:
Helps preserve lean tissue.
Supplies your body with energy when under stress (i.e. when performing athletic activity).
Preserves muscle glycogen (glucose which is stored in the muscle tissue used to power your movements).
Maintains nitrogen balance.
Enhances mental clarity when performing intense physical exercise.
In a nutshell the effects of L Leucine in the diet are profound. It is the strongest of the BCAAs and is also what is known as a "limiting nutrient". This means you must have enough L -Leucine in proportion to other amino acids in order for your body to make full use of what you eat!
If you don't have enough L Leucine in your diet your body will not be able to make use of the protein that you give it, regardless of how much protein you consume. More importantly unless you have enough L Leucine in your diet the money you spend on quality food and supplements could be wasted.
As a dietary supplement we recommend consuming 2 - 3g twice daily. For optimal results take 45 minutes before your workout and also post workout. One serving should be sufficient on non-training days.
Add 1 heaped MP small scoop (2g) to your preferred amount of water or fruit juice and consume immediately. Best consumed on an empty stomach.

I take this L Leucine either intraworkout with BCAA or in a pre-workout stack. I've found no problems mixing with water in a shaker with a hurricane ball - use flavoured BCAA and you wont taste it.

This L Leucine is a great product! It helps me to stimulate muscle protein synthesis. I use it between meals to keep muscle protein synthesis at high level and I add it in my PWO shake and my intraworkout drink along with some BCAA. Been using L Leucine for a few months now and it's such a shame this stuff doesn't mix at all! I've had to mix into protein which is inconvenient. It just froths up and sits on top of water so don't do that. Same with juice of any kind. Decent results and goes well to boost bcaa ratio. MP need to sort out the mix ability and it would be good stuff. Goes Well With:Protein and milk/water. Doesn't mix into anything else

The taste of L Leucine at first with water was a bit odd, but after a having it a few times and using juice instead of water, it isn't bad at all. As for what it does I'm still finding out.

Recently bought this L Leucine to increase my bcaa powder from a 2:1:1 ratio to the more effective 4:1:1 ratio. It works fine and I personally think it improves the taste of the unflavoured bcaa powder, but it still isn't the nicest taste in the world. Depsite that though, it's helped me to maintain my muscle mass whilst on a strict 2,000kcal cut down so I cant complain.Goes Well With:Bcaa and water

Myprotein seem to have changed the recipe for L Leucine to make it more mixable. The old stuff sat on top of the water and just kind of froths up, but the newest bag I've ordered mixes a lot easier.

"good price. But the ibcaa or bcaa should be at least a 4:1:1 ratio even a 6:1:1 to start with, so we wouldnt have to buy this on top. Shame really as all the evidence points towards 4:1:1 minimum. BUT would recommend this product to add to a 2:1:1 bcaa powder"

"Looks like synthetic talc weighs nothing and has the ability to float on water, tastes like plastic and is brilliant, I use it with L Glutamine and have had abreak for a week to check wether or not it's affective, and I can confirm it's good stuff, I choose to follow the spoon it in and quickly drink a fruity drink, namely a creatine pre work out drink that I use, but be warned it's so light, that if you take a breath or can't check point you swollow reflex, you will likely inhale the stuff, which is not a good idea. if not then mix it into a paste/shot of fruit drink/cordial. I also found it mix's with a shot of milk; likely due to the fat in milk. I get good focus and recovery in the gym and mixed with other amino's the general observation is that I see and feel an increase in my uptake of protien also."

"I use this product post-workout for recovery from intense full body workouts (Squats, deadlifts, kettlebells, NOT arms). Combined with 2 scoops of dextrose i use 4 small MP scoops imediatley after my workout then just another 2 scoops (no dextrose) 2 hours later. It has significantly shortened my recovery time. I do not use on non-training days as protein requirements arent as high."

"Be warned, this is unlike any other supplement I have tried before, first time I tried following the advice on the back of the bag, take with water.... ....its impossible to take with water, it floats on the top, and sticks to the side of the glass. Couple this with the fact it also catches at the back of your throat and makes you want to throw up from the taste... to put it lightly, it isnt for the faint hearted who struggle to swallow protein shakes. I'll follow the advice of putting it with a protein shake but I was hoping to be able to take it similar to the way I take another supplement by having it seperate from a shake. On the upside, there is a huge amount of evidence to support this supplement, especially if you are already increasing your protein intake. "

Leukic has had much achademic research into its function following exhaustive performance/training and from the peer reviewed material i have looked at the data is very convincing, stop reading, buy this nutrient, your body deserves it. \r\n\r\nI have recently combined it with gaaka, niacin, vanadyle sulphate and others, wow its cool. "I can not get this stuff to mix with any liquid in any quantity - it just floats on the surface and if your not careful when sliding it into your mouth comes back out as a a scattering of powder the next time you open again.\r\nThe taste is possibly the worst tasting supplement I have ever known and I can tolerate anything in a drink, I have to resort to taking this with mints in my mouth and 50ml of water, refill to catch all the powder thats stuck to the side of the glass when tilting to drink,and repeat this procedure 3-5x. \r\nIf I was'nt so tight that after buying something refusing not to use it then I would give up on it for the benefit of taking extra.\r\nIf you are going to buy this then buy a capping kit as it is the worst."
