Green Tea Extract has long been used by the Chinese as a medicinal treatment for headaches, body ache, poor digestion and to improve well-being and life expectancy. Green Tea has also quickly become a very popular ingredient in most "fat burners" due to its thermogenic effects and anti-oxidant properties.
Green Tea Extract is rich in bioflavonoids and polyphenols which help the body fight free radicals and other harmful toxins. It is also a rich source of EGCG which is another powerful antioxidant, and is reported to be over 100 times more potent than Vitamin E in fighting free radicals and pro-oxidants.
The EGCG in Green Tea Extract also helps to protect against digestive infections and is anti-bacterial. It has also been known to help lower cholesterol levels.
The breakdown of the polyphenols in our Green Tea Extract is:
Total Tea polyphenols: min 40%
Catechins: min 25%
EGCG: min 10%
Caffeine: max 8%
Add half of an MP mini scoops (100mg) to your preferred amount of water or fruit juice and consume immediately. Can be consumed as regular tea in hot water.
1 x level MP Plastic Scoop (mini) weighs 240mg (0.24g).

Purchased this purely for the health benefits; I don't generally drink tea or coffee so green tea doesn't appeal to me. I found the tsar quite bad, but I think it tastes like a normal tea with no milk but I don't like tea at the best if times so that may just be a bias opinion. I have since found that you can get them in different flavours from elsewhere like a raspberry flavor which is supposed to be nice. Also I called to speak to someone after ordering to see if the spoon comes with it and if it didn't could they add it to my already placed order so I didn't have to pay additional postage charges; he said it does come with a spoon but it doesn't... Just make sure you get one.
The tea it self didn't seem to give any energy boost or any other side effect you could feel but all the experts can't be wrong. Plus at a 21 year old male I'm not generally short on energy.
All in all an alright product, would make an excellent substitute if you drink tea or coffee. Goes Well With:Hot water

I received this on Friday so have only been taking it for 2 days so cannot comment on its effectiveness just yet. I don't have a my protein small scoop so I have just been putting a teaspoon of it in with my whey protein shake with a banana and spoon of almond butter and it tastes great! I cant taste it at all, still not sure if I need more or less than a teaspoon but will play it by ear. Am not getting a kick from 1 teaspoon but will give it chance to work. Goes Well With:chocolate whey protein, banana and almond butter

I bought a pouch of MP's Green Tea Extract Powder to use alongside their Weight Loss Bundle. It comes in a convenient pack which I keep in my drawer at work and I think it tastes lovely. It tastes exactly the same as having a normal cup of green tea, although you only need a tiny amount in each drink. I take mine with a mug of hot water and drink it as a normal cup of green tea although I will be mixing it with Superfood XS and Nutri-Greens to give me a boost pre-workout. There is a good bit of caffeine in the Green Tea Extract Powder so you do get a nice little buzz with it in the morning. Whether it helps with weight loss? It' will be hard to tell but I think it's just something that's good to have for good general well being.Goes Well With:Add to a shake made up with Nutri-Greens and Superfood XS for a good natural boost pre-workout

Overall a great product though I don't think it mixes very well so I put it into capsules and take it like that which is easier for me.
What is all the drama about?
- (15 / Oct / 2013)
It tastes absolutely fine and I don't see what all the drama is about with the taste. Has anyone tried a green teabag? its just the same, but obviously a lot better for you. I've only just started using it so I can't comment on the total benefits but is certainly giving me more energy and concentration. Make it like a tea in hotel water is the easiest. I will continue to have 3 cups a day and i am hoping it will build my immunity throughout the winter, which will help my joints. I definitely recommend! Oh and I think it is exceptional value!Goes Well With:Honey/cinnamon sugar for a treat
- (08 / Oct / 2013)
As good as it gets!
Amazing energy in the smallest amount, mixability can be a bit tricky with cold water and the taste is bitter (but it is an extract of course..)
Makes a great cuppa!
- (17 / Sep / 2013)
Not sure why others have negatively reviewed the taste, but with some warm water makes a drink very similar in taste to standard green tea! When you consider 100g gives you approximately 400cups (using a MP mini scoop or 240mg per time) it's exceptional value for money too. I can't really comment on it's effectiveness yet, but an easy to way to supplement with green tea.
- (26 / Aug / 2013)
I'm so happy with the taste of this Green Tea Extract Powder! You don't need much to make a cup of tea. It's too early to say if its doing anything good inside me, but I'm just happy with the new drink.Goes Well With:Ice and lemon
Great addition to a shake
- (21 / Aug / 2013)
I've been using the Green Tea Extract Powder for a couple of weeks now, I just add it to my whey diet shake. I'm already seeing results, I have been constantly losing the pounds. It doesn't add any flavour to shake, however it does clump together sometimes leaving a dry taste in the mouth. Apart from that it's great.Goes Well With:Impact diet whey protein shakes

Again, another product bought without checking the reviews. I was a bit apprehensive waiting for the Green Tea Extract Powder to arrive as everyone said it tasted horrible! Let's be honest, it does. It's sort of what I imagine melted tree bark would taste like, but it's completely worth it. I've used it to replace my teas and coffees (and I used to get through a lot!). I now have about 3 of these a day. In the morning, a quick one in the afternoon, and one before my work out. A squeeze of honey takes down the taste, but it's totally worth the grimace. I sometimes mix my last one of the day with a quarter cup hot water, pour into my shaker and fill with cold water. This keeps me going all the way through my work out. Also, a very handy side-effect has been that it's made my skin glow - not a bad side effect at all!
Overall, an excellent product and I will definitely buy more.
- (22 / Jul / 2013)
I never realised this Green Tea Extract Powder had such a caffeine punch. I started to mix it in my shakes as I hated the taste of green tea, but it doesn't mix well cold. I've started mixing a quarter of a teaspoon with hot water for a great drink, and it tastes much, much better than regular green tea, which tastes of seaweed. It's like drinking a double espresso with a smoother up and no noticeable come down. It's brilliant.
- (10 / Jul / 2013)
This stuff is dynamite! I mix it in with my impact whey protein (don't bother drinking with water alone, dont mix well or taste great) and 30mins later it starts to kick in! Keeps me going through out my entire workout. Excellent product and very good price.I have being taking for 2 weeks and have noticed a big difference around the abs however I can't guarantee this is down to the green tea extract or CLA, as I've been taking them simultaneously.Goes Well With:Impact Whey protein, CLA, Water

All good, does everything it says on the tin. Recommended!
- (29 / Jun / 2013)
Green Tea Extract Powder is very good and very effective, the taste is bearable, but not great when it comes to mixing. Overall it offers very good results!
What is all the fuss about
- (19 / Jun / 2013)
Really what is all the fuss about I got this because of all the benefits that have been mentioned and thought I would put up with the taste, I tried it today and what is all the fuss about? It's not that nice but it's not terrible.
I made it up like a cup of tea with skimmed milk and no sugar and it just tastes like a strong cuppa with a bit of an odd flavour behind it. It's a bit like an earl grey or something, in fact I would say I'd prefer this over an Earl Grey, it's totally drinkable and there's no need to gag, rinse you mouth etc. I've tasted far worse.
Don't let the taste reviews put you off.
I've only drunk one cup, so I can't comment on the effectiveness as yet.
- (11 / May / 2013)
This Green Tea Extract Powder gives me that little boast I need when waking up,1/4 teaspoon with a slice of lemon and hot water goes down well.
Green Tea Extract Powder
- (06 / Apr / 2013)
It doesn't taste great but after drinking it a few times you don't mind it and it becomes enjoyable. Another thing is that drinking it 2-3 times a day will make your skin glow, obviously works.
- (01 / Apr / 2013)
I haven't lost weight after using the Green Tea Extract Powder, but the tea is lovely. You will have to do a little trial and error, but I love it and the price is great, so for me this is perfect.
Great alternative to black coffee
- (27 / Mar / 2013)
This is not the nicest drink in the world but a perfectly acceptable hot drink and an alternative to black coffee (virtually necessary part of Intermittent Fasting), because it's 0 calories too. Nice caffeine content, which helps keep you feeling a little better if tired/groggy/super hungry. I don't particularly miss black coffee either now.
I don't think the taste is that bad but I have fairly diluted amounts with one artificial sweetener - about a quater of a teaspoons worth. My main complaint actually is that it stains your mug/spoons fairly easily.
I purchased the 500g bag during the sale and this is going to last me forever! So much so that I'd recommend putting the tea in another container (I used an old CLA tablet container with a lid) because the glue on the zip-seal will start to come loose and the packet won't close.
Saving a whole heap of money on the coffee I went through every day, reaping the benifits of Green Tea as well as keeping hydrated and full of caffeine until my eating window comes back. Lush.

The taste of the Green Tea Extract Powder is horrendous. However, I've found if you mix it in a shot amount of undiluted robinsons squash then the taste isn't overpowering and it's down the hatch easily and quickly. Yet you still get all the positive effects.
I've found this is a lot better than the tablets it seems a lot more potent and when taken in the morning it doesn't take long to give me that nice healthy feeling little buzz without any crash. Also useful pre workout for a little boost in the gym, I definitely feel healthier for taking this.
I also recommend MP's wheatgrass powder when taken with this in the morning that healthy feeling is fantastic, I get a nice little buzzGoes Well With:undiluted squash

When 1/4 teaspoon of Green Tea Extract Powder is mixed with hot water, it tastes better than green tea bags. I will be buying more!Goes Well With:hot water
- (11 / Mar / 2013)
I have been using this for 6 month now and I love it . I have replaced my morning coffees with the green tea extract and I think it has aided my weight loss ( I have know lost 3.5 stone ) . Goes great with a balanced diet and a good training program!Goes Well With:Thermopure
- (11 / Mar / 2013)
Bought this hoping it would be like green tea, there were a few issues, when mixing the powder it must be done with warm/hot water otherwise it will not mix, also instead of a green coloured tea you will get a red/brown coloured tea. It seems to taste fine however that colour seems to indicated that the all of the antioxidants have been destroyed in the production process.
- (07 / Mar / 2013)
The Green Tea Extract Powder is a great product. Currently using it twice a day mixed in with some protein and it's helped my gut. Would recommend to anyone who wants the benefits of green tea, but doesn't want the nasty flavour that goes with it!

- (06 / Mar / 2013)
I'm well aware of the benefits of green tea that is why I ordered this extract, but little did I know how truly horrible it tasted.
I tried mixing it in my protein shake, which just made my shake taste terrible. I can't see myself drinking this product because of the taste and don't envisage I will get used to it either, maybe I'm better off trying tablets instead
Goes Well With: nothing on this planet.
Green Tea Extract
- (06 / Mar / 2013)
The Green Tea Extract Powder is very disappointing compared to other brands I have used recently. The taste is terrible when I used it with hot water and the powder turned almost paste like on the spoon. One try was enough for me and I will not be suffering through a cup of this again.
- (11 / Dec / 2012)
I hate reading reviews about the taste of products as I would rather know what effects they have on the body. But good grief this Myprotein Green Tea Extract Powder was rotten, I think I'll be getting the capsules instead as I don't think I can handle the rest of the bag.

"This is great stuff. The reason people are saying it tastes bad is because they are mixing it with cold water. I don't recommend mixing it with cold water, because it does not mix very well, and just doesn't taste good. What i do recommend is to have it with hot water. It tastes great and is really soothing! I wasn't expecting any difference when taking this stuff, but it turns out that it really is beneficial! Despite eating a lot, to build muscle, i seem to be maintaining or even losing fat. I notice that my abs having become more visible aswell. You have to try this product, and if it isn't your cup of tea (sorry about that), well you've only lost around £5."
- (28 / Mar / 2012)
"Make a nice brew, use about a 1/4 of a teaspoon not a heaped one like I did, ooossshh it was powerful"
- (24 / Mar / 2012)
"As with most "green" powders, don't expect this to be delicious. It's not. But the unpleasantness of the taste can be forgiven because the effects are worth it. Greater mental acuity, alertness, no caffeine crash, a good source of antioxidants and some definite fat reduction make this relatively inexpensive product a must. Recommend taking pre-workout. I can’t reiterate how bad the taste is though – so be prepared. "
- (04 / Dec / 2011)
"I found this stuff absolutely essential. All of my shakes include half of a small scoop (so i think much more than the recommended dosage) of this powder. It is also very efficient against common cold with hot water (quarter of small spoon, somehow in hot water it is much stronger). which is a blessing in London where you get cold dozens of times a year no matter what you do."
- (05 / Sep / 2011)
"This stuff is AMAZING!.. It tastes like the Devil's tounge scrapings BUT, it gives you boundless energy throughout the day and i think it's definately helped me with the fat burning part of my diet. If you're tired from having hardly any sleep it literally brings you back from the dead. Another benefit is i feel more cognitive at work since regularly taking it throughout the day and i can concentrate more in things like meetings where before my concentration used to slip. Rather than mix in it with fruit juice or have it hot like regular tea or mix it with a protein shake (tried all three when i got my first batch), i recommend just getting a large half tea spoon and mixing it up with half a glass of cold water and drinking it quickly (three times a day). The taste is a minor inconvenience to the benefits you get so might as well get that part over with quickly!"
- (22 / Aug / 2011)
"Just arrived, put 500mg in a pot of tea and made a tea for me and my dad and it's really nice. Tastes just fine to me!"
- (13 / May / 2011)
smells like a horses stable. tastes pretty bad but has one of those addictive tastes...mixed with normal tea just tastes like a strong cuppa...good if you like strong brews
- (26 / Jan / 2011)
I used this product at the morning (500mg) and I couldn sleep after 18 hours!! I try it one more time and the same happened. After 18 hrs I can not sleep!! I dont understand it can work that long time?
- (09 / Jan / 2011)
here how i'm using this first thing in the morning i use empty can of red bull shot where i mix half small spoons of each ( green tea extract + grape seed extract + milk thistle extract + guarana extract + saw palmetto extract ) together in can . add 40 to 50 ml of water shake it well take it as one shot then drink any juice to stop the sensation of the taste the benefits its great mixture to balance the body and as a natural fat reducer and it boost so many functions which this box is not enough to fit them
- (09 / Oct / 2010)
"I've been using this product for about 3 weeks, and if you use the recommended serving, it tastes just like any other green tea. I'm working hard at the moment, but I do think it has had some effect on my progress, plus it does give a bit of a lift at 6am!"
- (21 / Jul / 2010)
"Blimey the taste is intense! Like a complete idiot i thought i'd mix it wit a bit of my normal cup of tea as you do and it was like drinking an uber cuppa! So today i mixed a quarter teaspoon with some fruit, milk, protein and honey. You couldn't taste the stuff although the smoothie had a dryness about it but it went down a treat!"
- (01 / Apr / 2010)
"Great product, full of goodness & yes it tastes something horrid! I drink lots of normal pure green tea & i thought id be able to take the taste but it is mean!! Best results ive had to combat this is using honey & cinnamon.e.g 1 cup of green tea, quater tea spoon of this stuff & a tea spoon of honey & maybe a teaspoon of cinnamon to really mask it, taste's fine! makes the perfect energising morning tea."
- (02 / Dec / 2009)
"I really like the taste of it, and knowing how those antioxidants go down with the rest of the gulp makes it all the better. However, some of you guys who have written reviews about the awful taste and such you need to take a look at how much you put in your coffee pot. It's an EXTRACT, which means that even if you only do 1gram you get like 70mg caffeine, which is equivalent to two normal mugs of tea - one mugh is like 30-50 mg. So if you are feeling that caffeine-like energy boost, it's probably because you put waaay to much powder in your mugs.. 200mg should be enough (1/5 of a g).. if you do so however, it'll taste like normal tea and you wont get too much caffeine.."
- (12 / Jun / 2009)
"I actually like the taste, and i feel realy fresh lately. !st time i made some i used a heaped tea spoon like an idiot lol. Dam this stuff is strong!!"
- (22 / May / 2009)
"Rank tasting but I know its good for you so will stick with it. Tried it in my protein shake and a lump of it didnt mix properly and i ended up chewing on it which wasnt pleasant. Am prob going to have to try it a different way, let the experiments begin. :-) Postage was top notch again."
- (02 / Jan / 2009)
"I agree its the most rank tasting supp I tried, but I neck it down with CEE in Tropicana Sanguellio (sp) juice - killing 2 birds with 1 stone. I do like the low caffine content and fat burning/health benifits - so I will continue to drink it (with a sour face)"
- (01 / Dec / 2008)
Oh my god. This stuff tastes foul. I kid you not. I started with a quarter of a tea spoon dissolved in water. I took one sip then a gulp then threw the whole lot up. My training partner did the same thing and he threw up too. Even mixed with protein powder it tastes DISGUSTING. Ive been on it a month and not lost enough to warrant taking anymore!
Great Mellow Buzz
- (31 / Mar / 2008)
"This is a fantastic product. I mix a quarter teaspoon of it in with a large mug of boiling water. This gives you a mug of brutally strong green tea. I sometimes like to add ginkgo biloba extract in as well as the flavours work together well. This stuff gives you a really good lift but in a really subtle way i.e. it doesn't make your heart go crazy but it does make you feel good, bright and alert."
- (02 / Jan / 2008)
"This stuff is always in my workout shakes, I don't actually like the taste of it on it's own, but it's high quality stuff so I just take it anyway, good for fat loss and it's high in antioxidants, what more could you want?"
- (24 / Jul / 2007)
"Tastes nice enough and is very similar to other green teas I have tried, high in antioxidants and can help with fat loss. I take around 0.2g in the morning with 200ml hot water and then again in the afternoon or even before training"
- (11 / Apr / 2006)
"I dont drink tea so i mix this (around 1-2g) with 100ml cold water - after a little stirring its fully dissolved. Somehow improves my mood, perhaps by giving me a little energy"
