Great delicious taste, Keeps me fuelled on long hilly rides with no sickly feeling in guts. Def recommended
I'm currently training for a 100km event and have been suffering with dehydration and severe cramp once I'm past about 4 hours. I used Ener:Gel for the first time last weekend and was really pleased with the results. The taste (I used blackcurrant) is really good and not too sickly sweet as some of these thinghs can be. It is also quite liquid and not the glutinous gelly that you sometimes get so eating/drinking it was not a problem. I used one every 40 minutes for 7 hours and while I can't claim to have been as fresh at the end as I was at the start these definitely helped me maintain a comfortable energy level throughout - and no cramp at any stage. I'll up to 10 hours this weekend and give the tropical fruit version a go!
I tried a Sis gel and thought they were expensive and then I saw these. I tried one yesterday on an empty stomach and I was fine. My splits were 8, 9 and 10 mins which was great for a return from holiday run. I did not feel sick during it after. I used the black currant flavour and I could tear the tube easily as with the SIS I had to stop and struggle with the packet. Highly recommended.
Did exactly what it was supposed to do, without making me retch. Foil pack's quite sturdy too, which is reassuring when crammed into a pocket.Goes Well With:Hair gel.
I've only just started running after years of doing judo and various sports, no problems or cramps when running and certainly provides the energy to help beat goals! :)Goes Well With:I've gone for a mixture of three products including instaoats in the morning and Recharge after I've finished my run/sometimes during.
Probably don't feel quite as tired exercising when using this product half way through a session, can't say whether that's because of the gel or from being fitter than previous. Maybe a placebo factor, but anything is worth trying!Goes Well With:exercise!
Nice tasting gel not horribly thick making it easy to digest, I found myself looking forward to taking the next gel not dreading it. I usually take one every 45 on the bike seems to work well and more staggered on the run.
Brought this as something to have pre-workout. I normally train first thing in the morning so I'm in the gym by 6:30 so struggle getting something to eat before hand so thought about trying these to fill the gap. I know they are designed for people training for an endurance event but have to be honest I am really pleased with the result. I am taking one about 30 minutes while travelling to the gym and are definitely making a difference. I am able to lift more and work harder for longer as part of my gym session since using these so cant really complain too much. That said the taste does take a bit of getting used to. I selected the orange flavour and the best way I can describe it is something like a very weak squash.
Great tasting and gives you that boost you need. Great for long distance running. Goes Well With:On its own
Purchased a box of blackcurrant ENER:GEL's. Much better than the previous gels I'd been using for some time; better taste, easier to take whilst on the move. Energy boost kicked in quickly. Took a couple during my local half-marathon and achieved a PB, knocking 4 minutes off my previous time, so very pleased. Will definitely use again.
I play a lot of squash and used to struggle with fatigue about 20 minutes into a game which was costing me. I started to have one of these just before the warm up and then when needed depending on the length and intensity of the game. The results were noticed straight away, my energy levels were off the scale. I can't imagine playing with out this stuff now. Goes Well With:Just water
Expected the Lemon and Lime to taste like pub lime cordial. In reality, it's like key lime pie, actually really really nice! Would love to see an option for these gels with added caffeine like the other mainstream brands, but not bad for the price, and they do taste much better than the other big name gels. Goes Well With:water, electrolyte
Packet easy to open on the go and very pleasant taste . Really helps when beginning to flag on a long run . it gives you energy with out a sudden rush
For a long time, I'm avid volleyball (and throughout the summer mainly beach-volleyball) player and enthusiast and Ener:gel is just what I was missing playing long hours and in tourney, giving enough energy and strength in such a short time and great taste, that I seriously think, this is what pushed me to later stages of tournaments, even some regional finalsGoes Well With:Anything, but I recommend protein bars :)
Pure ENER:GY is a good source of energy and is great tasting. I use it instead of breakfast when I go on an early run. It doesn't cause any digestion problems and gives me plenty of energy.
I have always been unimpressed by gels, having previously found them to be largely ineffective. However, these are a bit of a game changer! Whether that is due to the added B Vitamins or something else, I don't know, but I definitely feel my energy restored when I take them! I love that they are isotonic, providing more hydration and a much easier to swallow texture, more like a sports drink. I have tried both the tropical and the blackcurrant and taste wise, they are quite strong but then I usually prefer things watered down so it could just be me! (My partner has tried both flavours and he really enjoyed them, hence the 5 stars!) Size wise they are quite large so if you need a lot of them / have minimal storage space (on your bike or out on the run), a way around this could be to put the gels (however many you think you will need) in a bottle. If you are in a race you can sip this every 15 minutes or so and then just pick up water at the aid stations, knowing that you already have your energy dialled in! To quickly summarise a long review, great gels for the price! Will definitely be using again!
I had the lemon and lime flavour and found it very pleasant, these help me to get through long distance runs feeling strong and confidant, stopping me hitting the wall, I can't recommend this product enough.Goes Well With:Water
Got these because I needed an extra boost for the gym after a long days slog, and to be honest it does work and you do feel a bit more energised but not so energised like your gonna go and smash some pbs in the gymGoes Well With:Water
great to boost your energy during work out, I tend to have it on my way to the gym, and that does trick however, loses a star due to cost, as it recommends 2-3 per hour of work out, which I cannot afford. Taste wise there's a variety to chose from so something for pretty much everyone
I am always cautious about trying new gels as some of them are excessively sweet and do more harm than good. Ener:gel was recommended and I tried the blackcurrant flavour. It's relatively easy to digest and does the job, as well as tasting nice, so I'm happy to recommend it. Delivery from Myprotein was fast and efficient, so overall a very creditable 4 stars.
The Gels are great, not as dense, as others, but that means that it is easier to swallow them and that you do not need as much water afterwards. Really great products, and I will switch only to them, because of the great price.
Got this product as I am training for my first half marathon on the 23rd of March. Never done any serious running before this. Generally this is a great product, it can make me a little windy by times (excuse me!). but it does seem to give me a boost and push through the long milesGoes Well With:Water
Fairly bulky product with a high water content, but this makes it easy to ingest without the usual "thick jam" texture of some I've tried, plus nothing wrong with a bit of extra water, other than the weight/bulk. Only used for training so far, but I didn't get any adverse effects from this fuel.
i do a lot of spartan runs / tough mudder obstacle training. when i am training for long durations, this helps get you though. would be lost on a long run without this kick!!
The ENER:GEL is definitely one of the better gels I've used. It tastes great.
In the need for an energy boost for my long runs, I am using this energel liquid. It is good tasting and easy to swallow, also the package is easy to open, while running. Kicks in quite soon and supports me with the needed energy. Goes Well With:long runs
Great product, whether you need an extra burst in the gym or at half time at footy, this stuff gets you through and also tastes pretty good (lemon & lime flavour).
These ENER:GELs have been great, and I will be ordering another box. They taste great and are pretty effective for long distance cycling and running. I would recommend to anyone, great taste and not hard to swallow.Goes Well With:Water
Having previously used carbo gels before I was looking for an alternative as my usual ones (lucozade) had sky rocketed in price. Saw these on offer and thought why not? It doesn't give you a massive boost but you feel you can go for longer, which is ideal really last thing you want to do is have a massive jolt then feel like you're going to crash ten minutes later. As compact as they are I take them paintballing and airsoft too as well as usual gym. Taste wise it's not that bad a flavour just there's very little of it. Still won't put me off ordering again for my first product ordered from myprotein I haven't been disappointed.Goes Well With:water
These ENER:GEL are the best energy gels I've tried, and easily compete with more expensive well known brands. I use them in my day to day work as they give me the boost I need. These are the best value for money I could find. They are especially useful because they are isotonic and you don't need to drink loads of water with them.
I use these ENER:GEL a lot whilst trail running/training. Normally one or two will do me for an hour or so up and down the hills but on long Sunday runs of around 3 hours in the mountains then I'll take four or five. They're very easy to swallow and taste good without upsetting the stomach. I have struggled in the past with stomach cramps from other various brands but these are easily digestible. Highly recommended!
I can't say I love the taste of the Lemon and Lime ENER:GEL at all but it does the trick to boosting mine and my friends energy when we needed it the most. It works quickly and mixing it with water dilutes it and allows it to be drunk without the concentrated taste.
I started using these gels 32 weeks ago as part of my Iron man Lanzarote trainging programme. They are consumed in seconds providing fast delevery of energy. They were invaluable in getting me round Lanza in a great time. Try them and you will nor regret it !!
Do you need to rehydrate? Or feel energised? Then I would advise you to get these ENER:GEL. I have been using these for a week and it's been fantastic, I could say bring on the pre-season training because with energy gels it seems I have an extra hour in the tank.
The ENER:GEL provided a much needed boost while cycling with almost instant results of increased power and energy. It's a good flavour with no nasty aftertaste. Goes Well With:Combine with MyProtein MyBar Pro for increased sustainability on ling rides.
ENER:GEL is an excellent product. It's outstanding value for money, and is so much cheaper than Sis gels and in my opinion even better tasting. This is a must for a cyclist! Get buying!
ENER:GEL is an excellent gel that's easy to use on my bike. It has a good flavour and is easy to digest. It's a great price and is highly recommend.
ENER:GEL is a brilliant product for whilst out on the push bike, I've done some long distances taking one of these down an hour to top up. It tastes really nice and is not too sickly or sweet and I found it to be really effective in pushing me on further.
ENER:GEL is excellent, it gives me energy I didn't know that I had.
I've Tried loads of gels, but would really recommend these, really refreshing easy to swallow, not sweet and gooey like alot of gels. Using them in Marathon Kayak events, only slight problem they are a bit tough to tear the seals of, but Ive usually got cold hands and in a tippy kayak! But will continue to use them really good!
I'm training for a 40 mile endurance race and take these ENER:GEL on my long run sessions. I try to do without them as long as possible (usually 1.5 hours) and get a real energy kick a few minutes once I've taken them and take 1-2 an hour until I finish.
These taste great! I've got the summer berry flavour and they taste like those yoghurt tubes kids put in their lunchbox. They sit very well on the stomach even during intense racing. I ordered mine in May '12 and the best before date is Feb '13 so the previous reviewer must have been unlucky with his batch regarding best before date..
"These are the best energy gels I've tried, easily compete with more expensive well known brands. I use them during the bike phase of Olympic distance triathlons. best value for money i could find. they are especially useful because they are isotonic and you don't need to drink loads of water with them, useful if you don't like the really sweet gels that are hard to digest."
"I liked the two flavours I tasted: orange and summer berries. I had them on their own easily. The only thing that I did not like is that the ""best before"" date in the energels was January 2012 and I received them in the first days of January 2012 so only a month to have them. I am aware the best before date is only a guidance. However, they should have stated on the advertisement that the energels on sale would have only a month until they reached their best before date. I suggested they added that on similar sales pages but I am not sure they have done it yet. I was told they sent me such energels because I bought them on sale. After complaining, they offered to send me an extra box which I have received. I hope they add such details on similar sales pages. "
These have to be the best tasting gel I have ever used; it is also very easy to swallow and is quite thin in consistency. I have used these over an extended period and I do not suffer from the usual nausea feeling of using energy products during sustained efforts of more than 4 hrs. I use the Maltodextrin; Fructose and Electrolytes and a fruit tea bag for a great tasting energy drink.
"Saw the product on facebook when it came out. Had a 23 mile race across moors and up plenty of hills 2 days later. Quickly purchased a box, next day delivery, and all was fine. Took a handfull with me to the race, and my first try was after about 10 miles, when i'd reached a peak of the moor, time to drop down though the horrible wet terrain, feeling awful! sucked on a tube of energel, and hurled down that moor side quicker than i couldve imagined! Now, its hard to tell with things like this, but part of the sudden urge of energry could've been the 'placebo effect' yet even if this was true, it was definatley worth it. suddewn burst of energy that really pulled me through a hard patch of the race. To sum up, it does exactly what it wsays on the tin. The price is fantastic compared to competitor brands. The taste was great (orange) but maybe a little sugary, so have some water to hand to wash it down. Cannot complain in the slightest. cheers MP!"
