Overview

DL Phenylalanine (DLPA) is an essential amino acid and also serves as a building block for the various proteins that are produced in the body.

DLPA can be converted by a bio-chemical process in the liver to L Tyrosine and phenylethylamine, a substance that occurs naturally in the brain and appears to improve mood.

The body needs phenylalanine to make epinephrine, dopamine, and norepinephrine, three neurotransmitters that control the way you perceive and interact with your environment. Phenylalanine supplementation may help you feel happier, less hungry and more alert; it has also been shown to treat chronic pain and improve memory and concentration. DLPA primarily has positive effects on both pain sensitivity and mental state.

Warning: Not advisable if pregnant, or in cases of melanoma, schizophrenia, high-blood pressure, or if taking fenfluramine, anti-depressants, or MAO inhibitor drugs. This product contains phenylalanine.

I have found that it mixes well with coco fat (butter) coco fat is a valuable mid chain fatty acid which is good for the old brain !! dose of phenlalanine 2 desertspoon fulls on a digestive biscuit goes well

How do you mix this product? With water/squash/milk? Its not easy to mix into drinks can anyone recommend another way to take it? What time of day is it best to take it? Is it recommended that you take it with/before/after food?
