Overview

Instant Oats are a fantastic source of low Glycemic Index (GI) carbohydrates ideal for fuelling your exercise routine.

We have sourced the very finest Scottish Oats and milled them down in to an ultra fine powder to provide a slow release, low GI carbohydrate which can be easily consumed as a drink when mixed with your preferred liquid.

Instant Oats are an extremely healthy source of carbohydrates as they provide a sustained flow of energy to the body. This makes them the ideal choice for anyone looking to fuel their exercise or simply boost their carbohydrate intake throughout the day. As a slowly absorbed form of carbohydrate, Instant Oats provide a less profound effect on blood sugar levels when compared to Dextrose or Maltodextrin. The ultra fine form makes them extremely convenient as they maintain all the nutrients and benefits of 'normal' oats, and they taste fantastic!

The versatility of Instant Oats allows you to add them to your existing supplement shake, consume them on their own or even add them to certain foods like yoghurt, smoothies and baked goods

Key Benefits

  • Excellent source of low GI carbohydrates
  • Perfect for bulking & as a source of energy
  • Great taste and easy to mix

i bought these to have as breakfast. i bought banana and the taste itself isnt bad however im not sure if i didnt shake for long enough but it was terribly mixed. i put some creatine monohydrate in so maybe that effected the mixability so im going to try without that. but the taste itself wasnt bad. and it really quickly which is good.

Reading all the negative reviews I thought this might be dodgy, but it wasn't! It tastes like oats, but really works well with chocolate smooth whey protein. Make sure you have enough liquid though to make it reasonable smooth going down. Didn't give full marks for taste as it has none.

Have been using Instant oats mixed with 250ml of milk every morning for the last two weeks. I just mix it in with a bit of strawberry/chocolate/banana milkshake powder and guzzle it down! I have it around 6:15am in the morning and it leaves feeling full until lunchtime around 12:15. I am very impressed so far and its really fuelling my daily activity and gearing me up for my evening workouts. A great, cost effective product!

Great product and ridiculously cheap. Excellent when mixing with milk and impact whey (banana). I used it as part of a bulk phase. These oats mix well, aren't too chalky when mixed correctly and the people complaining that it tastes horrendous on its own have to realise that it isn't meant to be drank on its own. Drinking any liquefied oats would be disgusting. I personally mix 2 scoops of oats and 2 scoops of impact whey with 300ml of milk/water and throw in a banana and a big teaspoon of MP Peanut butter. It makes one epic, calorie filled shake!

1st tip, use more liquid then recommend, 250ml is not enough by any way, at least 400 (i prefer 500ml) . I find it real easy to drink with just regular water, better then with milk, it doesnt taste gross at all like leucine eaa or other foul tasting supplements, its just easy to swallow. If u really want to use it with milk, go with flavoured whey protein and it will be totally fine.

Hi guys, I got 1kg of this in a Bundle a few months back and have just finished it, needless to say it wasnt my cup of tea at all! I tryd it on its own, in my protein, in water & Milk and the only way i could stomach it was with Impact whey Chocolate Smooth and some peanut butter (Coz i couldnt taste it) i can see how this can be effective for bulking up, high calories etc, but again not for me.

Got this yesterday (unflavoured) and I found it pretty difficult to drink up, due to it being pretty thick with the 250ml of liquid suggested (I used milk) and also the taste (or lack of). So this morning I filled up the shaker with 400ml of milk, the recommended 2 heaped scoops of oats and also a dash of hot chocolate powder and it was much much better. Went down a treat, it's much more runny due to more milk and tasted much better thanks to the hot chocolate. Can't properly comment on effectiveness but my job (lifeguard) is mentally exhausting and I usually feel tired towards the end of my shifts, but last night thanks to this I did feel pretty upbeat and not as tired. Had for breakfast today along with a yogurt so I'll see when I start to feel hungry.

I ordered the oats yday evening not expecting them to come for a good few days, but they came today midday so i was really impressed ! great service mp !! Okay, the oats themselves are terrible haha only kidding !! they are actually blimin amazing aha, they taste - without sounding stupid - just like oats well the unflavoured one anyway. Do not worry about taste or mixability i got a shaker and it mixes perfectly, there is a smooth texture with the odd piece of oat but seriously it tastes good !! Too mix i use, 250ml of milk add 3 spoons of nesquik add 50g of oats shake then add another 50g and shake and bada bing bada boom theres ya shake ! oh and i got the 5kg one so just as well its good haha many thanks MP

I went for unflavoured, and its lovely to drink. Mixed with impact whey and creatine powders (all unflavoured) its actually really drinkable. I avoid flavours as they all seem to be too sickly sweet for my taste (but then I'm fussy). The resulting taste of the unflavoured is a subtle taste of oats, not strong, not bland, just perfect. I could drink this stuff all day and not get gaggy/sickened. Feels good in the belly too, an all round solid product and definately will be ordering more.

This is great for adding the Carb boost straight after a workout - I train in the morning before work so im up at 6am - I have a single scoop Protein shake at 5:45 then get to the gym for 6:15 (30mins later) before I train I have the BCAA then straight after training BCAA again, shower, then have the Protein and Oats mix - its a really nice Shake in the morning, tastes great - whatever flavor protein you have really - ok there are some bits in it, but I knock it back and this doesn't bother me at all - its the effectiveness - increased energy at work - I take other protein shakes during the day but for me this is my only Carb allowance for the day - 70g in a hit is good for the Muscle growth as well - buy the 5kg bags as this is the most cost effective option and you'll be using it everyday - even on weekends when I dont train (hard - i still swim and run) I have a protein and oat shake to start the day - aim for 2:1 ratio of Carbs to Protein after your workouts and your Muscles will start to notice the difference.

I brought this along with Liquid Egg Whites. I struggled to drink the eggs white and played around with combinations. I finally found that 150ml Egg whites, 350ml water, 2 scoops of total whey and 2 scoops of the oats makes for a lush morning shake. Also hits near 65-70g of Protein aligned with the good carbs for energy release and its a pretty good breakfast shake. Seen some people complain about the mixability, but I find it blends ok in a shaker, just need to to give it the quick shakes between mouthfuls. Only been on it for a week or so... so a little to early to say about the muscle building resutls but will update.

Not even joking dude, this stuff is so good. For value to money oh my God where to begin... 5KG for 10 f***ing quid!!!!!!!!! I can put on weight sooooo well and easily with this stuff. Only thing I would add is leave it the very most at one cup mixed with 500ml of water any more and you'll be throwing up cause it is legit oats after all. Be kind to your stomach - not something I've always gone by. But this product is terrific, you know exactly what it is....... Mashed up oats! So simple, so effective. Great for bulking. Whenever I need to add several pounds quick or push my strength up or bulk generally, straight on this stuff. Normally 1 cup a day before bed but when I'm in a serious mood period I do 2 cups a day, smashes the pounds up. Never hit the 3 cups a day but I want to one day!

Im a 'Hardgainer' and have always had trouble putting on weight. I started a new workout plan in January to try and bulk up and so I started including 2 Instant Oat shakes mixed with milk a day (one in the morning, and one an hour before working out) Since i started a month ago i have gained approx 4 pounds of muscle (a fair amount i think most would agree) and i think the instant oat shakes have had alot to do with this. Each shake mixed with 250ml of full fat milk will give you approx 548 calories and 83g of good carbs (no sugar!!) which is like a mini meal. its also worth noting that by body fat percentage has stayed pretty much the same, so my gains havent really been fat gains. i wont discuss the taste of it as everyone is different, but i have the unflavored and its nice. i would say this is a must have for any skinny guys out there trying to put some meat on

If you go for the unflavoured variety, you can save a lot money. Then you can mix it with the flavoured Impact Whey protein (chocolate in my case), add a banana and there you go - you have a pleasant tasting shake with a nice texture. Personally I use a small hand blitzed, so can't really comment on "mixability". It definitely goes down easier than Maximuscle Promax Diet which is too watery, as I prefer thick, smooth shakes. Instant Oats definitely keep hunger at bay in the morning and give you the energy to exercise, run. They also help with the recovery.

This product is great for bulking. Clean, convenient, low GI carbs for sustained energy release. I add it to protein powder, omega oil and barley wheat- This is literally a well rounded meal in a glass - as good as you are going to get for a true meal replacement. I went for natural flavour but this is fine as I use flavoured protein and this is enough to flavour the whole shake. Doesn't mix like protein powder (I use a hand blender) but then it is oats and if anyone can get their own oats to mix in water using just a shaker then I'd be amazed. Some products on MP I wouldn't buy but this one is definitely one of them. Well done MP.

For anyone having issues with mixability. During transport the powder gets compressed and causes the lumps when mixing. When i got my last batch i put the whole pouch through a siv into another container. I litterally shake now for about 10 seconds and its perfectly smooth everytime. Be gental with sivved oats, if you bash the container down on the worktop each time you make a shake they will gradually compress again.

Really great way of getting in good quality carbs without any of the hassle of cooking. I mix the 2 scoops of the unflavoured oats with 1 scoop of flavoured whey protein. The oats taste pretty neutral, so it makes a great tasting milkshake. Highly recommended for hardgainers to pack in the extra calories through the day.

Mixes surprisingly well using the My Protein shaker and with around 250ml of milk the consistency is perfect, I use the non-flavoured oats and they taste great without the need for any added flavours. I am tempted to buy some Nesquik to mix with it as a treat though! Great product from a great company.

Excellent product at supermarket price. I buy unflavoured oats and mix 1 large MP scoop with 2 large MP scoops of flavoured impact whey and enough cold water to make a thin consistency. Delicious and quick. Taken at mid-morning and mid-afternoon, they make a brilliant healthy substitute for a normal unhealthy sandwich-and-crisps packed lunch!

Vanilla tastes great, and is a wonderfully easy source of calories. But I'm really put off from ordering more by the cost of the flavourings. At the time of writing, 5kg unflavoured is cheaper than 2.5kg with any flavour! Compared to most sources of flavour (e.g. a bottle of vanilla!), the cost here is ridiculous.

Taste is abosoluetely fine on its own with milk, taste texture is nothing to be put of by at all. In truth you will be suprised at how much you will like it. Now you add 2 scoops of impact blend (I have strawberry) 2 scoops of then the usual mixings of semi skimmed milk. That is one healthy consistent weightgainer you have there in your hands for very good value!! Two of these a day along with my PWO and usual protein meals and I hope to add good weight on this phase. Top service again MP ordered friday at my work by monday. Lovely jubbly!

Taste is abolutely fine, I would go so far as to say sometimes I even enjoy it. Definitely helps me to keep my weight on and is a quick fix if you don't have time to cook a full meal. I'll have 2 scoops of this up to 3 times a day and it helps keep me above 12 stone, otherwise my weight drops off quickly. Have recommended to a lot of friends, it's also dirt cheap considering how long it lasts.

Great stuff! I use this mostly first thing in the morning as I am in the gym at 7 / 7:30 in the morning. I found at this time in the morning it hard to swallow when mixed with just water (too thin) or just milk (too thick). With milk I could add more milk to thin it out abit but too much milk before training makes you feel a bit sick. I personally found a good taste texture with 100g oats, 30g total protein, 100ml semi-skimmed milk and 150ml water... goes down a treat and doesnt lie too long in my stomach either, so no sick feeling when training. Gives a good energy supply for my workout.

Bought this after over hearing a guy recommend it in the gym. I noticed his increases compared with mine and he was adamant that it was as a result of this product. I bought the 5kg bag and mix 2 scoops with 1 scoop of true whey chocolate. It actually tastes nice! I have it before the gym or as a mid morning snack on non-training days. You really do need to use the shaker with the ball in it. It just doesn't mix well with normal shakers or those with the plastic grid/mesh.

Porridge makes me gag; That slimy, lumpy stodge is vile...On the other hand 100g of oats provide a heap of good quality carbs and pretty much 100% of your RDA of fibre. Step forward Instant Oats. This stuff is brilliant; for around half the price of, say, readybrek, you get a product you can mix with your protein shake, use it as a shake in it`s own right, or do what I do which is to add yoghurt and honey and mix to a thick paste, like baby food. I can`t give it a rating for flavour as I bought the unflavoured, but in all other respects it`s perfect.

No lie in 1 month you can notice a huge difference. I buy the unflavoured oats 5KG bag, I don't see all the fuss about extra flavours just add strawberries or bananas or even chocolate powder. They mix perfect just use the MP shaker with the ball in. Also great before a work out as they release energy slowly. If your struggling to put weight on, believe me add these oats to your breakfast ( don't supplement this for your breakfast ) you will notice a huge difference, well i did and still am. After years of trying to put down oatmeals which i really dislike i found my kind of product! It does not taste good but it is so mild i really do not care about it. Perfect for my breakfast. 500ml of water 2 scoops of this and 2 of total protein. Mixes well enough (provide you shake it good) i don't have any complaints. I buy unflavored since the protein powders i use at breakfast are flavored. I dislike strong flavors. However it is nice to use flavored powders to mask this otherwise not very likeable taste. I recently decided to switch from Maltodextrin to Instant Oats and although maltodextrin is a lot sweeter (as it is a sugar) Instant Oats is a lot cheaper and also has a much low GI. Mixed with my protein (smooth chocolate) there does not seem to be any negative taste from the oats. However, the one thing i'll say is that although not bad, i actually really like it, the oats do add a noticeable texture to the shake. No longer like water it is a little thicker, certainly not lumpy or anything just noticeable. But i love it.

I feel like I'm just going with the flow in giving this product five stars, but I'm not sure where it is possible to mark it down. It's a good price (cheaper than brand name porridge oats), easy to work with (the slightly moist powder makes it easy to scoop), mixes well with other products and is easy to drink. I use two scoops of this with one scoop of whey choc and mint, one hour before a lunchtime workout and then again mid afternoon, and it's great stuff. And of course, Myprotein as a company are just as easy to deal with, with prompt answers to questions and fast delivery of products. These oats are a brilliant way to add some low GI carbs to protein shakes (unlike the high GI maltodextrin that most branded weight gainers are laden with). I use about 50g in most of my protein shakes (along with maltodextrin in my post workout to increase creatine and protein absorption). It mixes relatively well, producing a slightly gritty texture which I quite like, although it does tend to settle at the bottom of the shaker after about a minute so get it down you quick! Mixed with unflavoured whey it tastes like porridge so no complaints there. Overall a great product at a great price.

Bought 5kg unflavoured. Mixes well in a shaker with protein blend to make a good Breakfast shake. I now have this for breakfast instead of a bowl of cereal as it sorts me for the day. Also brilliant for a post work out shake (again mixed with protein) giving you the carbs and protein you need instantly. Ive noticed the difference in the month ive been drinking this stuff. Recommended to everyone

I didnt get a scoop with the smaller bag when delivered at work this morning meaning I had to guesstimate the amounts by pouring into the cereal bowl, big mistake!! After chucking in the microwave for two minutes, I ended up with what can only be described as uber thick chocolate fudge! Very nice taste but thinking maybe the natural/unflavoured might have been a bit more organic tasting. Use two scoops as per the instructions and you will be fine. Chocolate taste is decent, very similar to the Impact Whey Chocolate Smooth Taste.

I'm pedantic when it comes to experimenting with these shakes to get the best flavour and I've tried numerous combinations. Two scoops of unflavoured oats are disgusting, two scoops of chocolate flavoured oats are a bit better but far too sweet, however, one scoop of unflavoured with one scoop chocolate flavour is drinkable, which is the combo I now use. It actually tastes nice combining one scoop of either flavour oats with one scoop of MP True Whey chocolate flavour. I even tried adding my own Bournville cocoa powder to the unflavoured oats and it was AWFUL! MP obviously know what they're doing more than I do! ;-) From what I've heard, other powders on the market taste even worse so well done to MP in that respect! For the positives, the MP shaker mixes this stuff well, all MP stuff is VERY cheap compared with other brands (e.g., Maximuscle) and it FEELS like it's bulking me up... only been taking it for a few weeks though but I seem to have added a couple of pounds. My routine is now one scoop chocolate oats with one scoop unflavoured oats every morning, and one scoop chocolate MP True Whey with one scoop MP Hurricane XS after training. Will report back in a few months time!

These are amazing value for money and I think they taste great mixed with milk and some chocolate impact whey isolate. My favourite post workout shake.\n\nMy one concern with these is that I do not believe they are low GI as Myprotein state. Standard whole oats are at least 50 on the GI (medium GI) and with this being in a more bioavailable, flour-like form I would expect the GI to be even higher (70+). Try comparing the GI of Wheat with that of Wheat Flour to see what I mean.\n\nUntil Myprotein can get these tested and give a definitive answer to what the GI actually is then I would only use them in post workout shakes. If you want to use them as a meal replacement then I would look at Aktivated Barley instead as that does have a low GI as well as lots of other great nutrients.

Oat is the only cereal containing a globulin or legume -like protein, avenalin, as the major (80%) storage protein. Globulins are characterized by water solubility because of this property, oats may be turned into milk but not into bread. The more typical cereal proteins such as gluten and zein are prolamines. The minor protein of oat is a prolamine: avenin. \n\nOat protein is nearly equivalent in quality to soy protein, which has been shown by the World Health Organisation to be equal to meat, milk, and egg protein without the harmful levels of cholesterol often associated with animal based products. The protein content of the hull-less oat kernel groat ranges from 12–24%, the highest among cereals. Oat power stays with you, I swear by Oats if you want increased strength

I have to say that I am really surprised with this. After trying various carb drinks, all of which have such a sweet taste like putting a kilo of sugar in ur protein shake, I finally got this. I don't know any other webstore selling this, but it is brilliant. I use 2 scoops with 2 scoops of whey isolate from MP, and I have made the best weight gain drink in the planet. The isolate flavours a very vague when mixed with water. But add the UFSH it gives it a unique, fine taste. Not gritty as such, but more soft. I had bought the 1kg bag out of fear that I may not like it, as I found with the palatinose. But I will be getting the 5kg bag next time. Highly recommended. I could drink 5 or 6 of these "home made" weight gainers. And although I don't use the scales people have stated how I look a bit larger, in just 1 week. Excellent. I doubt that I will be using any other product combinations for protein/carbs. Maltodextrin, is now an outdated concept !!!!

As a shift worker i've always struggled with the willpower to go about preparing the types of food you need as a bodybuilder at five in the morning but Ultra Fine Scottish Oats have saved me from my catabolic nightmare. They're quick, easy and when mixed with semi skimmed milk very tasty. Unlike my previous supplements there's no need for a blender just shake and go and accompanied with a seperate shake of whey protein its the perfect start for any bleary eyed hard gainer. Thanks My Protein.

i have just complete my 1st bag off jock oats and i must say i was blown away at how good they are, never tried oats before and was amazed at how well they dissolve, i have 100grams with 2 scoops of true whey for breakie, gives you everything you need to start the day off. make sure you put in about 400 - 500mls of water so it can dissolve properly.\ncan't believe how good this stuff is, if you are looking for lean gains without adding fat then this is a must, keeps you feeling full till your mid morning shake. just ordered my next lot, you cant get a better endorsement than that.

It really is ultra fine, no home blender will do it like this. The price is pretty good in comparison to toehr bulk suppliers. The one thing is the taste, its very unusual, someone earlier described it as wallpaper paste? I would aggree with that. Home blended oats does not have this flavour.. Still, it s a smal quibble, mix 100g with a scoop or whey and it isn't half bad, I am using it to bulk

The oats are as fine as flour and mixes in your shakes really well, can't get normal oats blended this fine-just doesnt work. They do sink to the bottom though when left a while so just keep shaking as you drink them. I mix 100g oats with 350ml semi skim milk with 20g of protein = gives around 630cal, 35g pro, 90g carbs and 15g fat! I have it in the morning for breakfast (i can't stomach eating in the morning but i can handle this) and again mid afternoon and again on the night. Great for whatever your goals just adjust the amount, helps pack on size while keeping the fat low. A great source of carbs that provides you with sustained energy. Highly recommended

Truely excellent product. Why? The taste is good, its of actual oats. Mixes well to a thin shake with 600ml water, does require a swirl when reaching the bottom as it settles if left for too long before consumption, so drink fast after shaking. As for the effects, I have been on it for about 3 weeks, and the energy I have for the gym is brilliant, having a shake about 40-50 mins before is very beneficial, been able to do, not like massively much more, but had a bit more endurance on low weights and could squeeze a few more reps on the tough deadlifts and benchpress. Works well as both Pre and Post workout, although its generally better to have maltodextrin post workout as its fast digested and absorbed. Through and through, amazing product.

Been using these for 2 months now. I've found when trying to bulk up, most carbs just bloat me, Oats without a doubt are the best source of carbs i've used, I feel strong during work outs and seem to pack on mass without increasing inches around the mid section. I have 1/2 scoops of whey impact (chocolate, giving 20/40g protein)) and 2 scoops of oats (giving 60g carbs) with 300 ml of water, 3 - 4 times a day, with my meals. Mixes really well. Defo worth a try!! Tastes good, tried with normal oats from supermarket, believe me, doesn't work, just wont mix, cant get the oats fine enough.

I've added Oats to my morning shake for ages. Just blend the oats on thier on, till they are as fine as dust, add the rest of your ingredients. \n\nHaving them already turned to dust would help anyone mixing up a shake without a blender (post work out, at work etc)\n\n\nBTW, poridge (oats and hot water) was used to feed slaves in ancient times and seen as a very cost effictive way of fueling the slave work force.

Adds good clean carbs to the diet for not that much cost. Sure, I could blend the oats myself, but I've never had oats as fine as these. It's like fine sand. The taste is alright. It tends to give things a bit of an oaty taste and texture even at small amounts, but it's really just something I put in shakes which I chug down anyway so taste is not a big concern.

This is a 'does what it says on the tin' product. It adds carbs easily and cleanly. Its cheap, and its oats, so dont expect the best taste in the world.\n\nI personally didn't like the oaty flavour when added to my protein shake as it just overpowered the shake. The easiest way to get arround this is simple:\nBuy some Nesquik milkshake powder and add to your shake. Tastes amazing and adds a few more calls.\n\nBottom Line... Its oats, simple and pure, oats are rough, oats taste like oats. If you keep this is mind then you will be ok.

\r\nMP: You are adding nearly 200g of powderin that shake. You will need to add at least 700-1000ml of liquid we guess to make a smooth drink. The more powder in the shake, the more liquid is required.

Anyone undergoing serious training, regardless of whether it is weight lifting or running, needs a substantial supply of high quality complex carbohydrates. Which is precisely what the oats provide extremely low GI, slow releasing carbohydrate, together with some fibre and some good fats. The oats have been ground up so fine as to make a powder than mixes very well with liquid provided enough liquid is used, this makes it incredibly useful for making a \"meal replacement\" shake consisting of oats + whey perfect for bulking that can quickly and easily be consumed whilst working.\r\n \r\nTaste is OK and rather bland drinking them is rather like drinking liquidised porridge. A slightly nutty taste and slightly sandy texture. Perfectly palatable, but I wouldn't say that I enjoy the flavour particularly.\r\n \r\noats in general are a very inexpensive highly nutritious grain although a little pricey for what they are, they are ground up so fine that you would not be able to achieve anything like the same result at home using regular oats and a blender (not to mention the fact that it wouldn't be worth the effort, and your blender probably wouldn't last very long!).

But with this powder form you just add to your favourate protein drink and enjoy, great value and easy to consume. Try mixing 100g with 40g protein powder such as whey to gain more mass or 40g with 40g protein to get in shape! Great stuff
