Overview

Inositol is a water soluble compound known to be a member of the B-vitamin family. It is found in cell membrane structures and is important for the metabolism of fat and cholesterol, including removal of fat from the liver. It also affects nerve transmission and helps in transporting fats within the body.

Inositol plays an important part in the health of cell membranes especially the specialised cells in the brain, bone marrow, eyes and intestines. The function of the cell membranes is to regulate the contents of the cells, which makes effective functioning possible.

Suggested Use

As a dietary supplement we recommend consuming 750mg, 1 to 3 times daily.

    I believe that the other reviewer is correct. From what Ihave read you should not take inositol and SSRIs together because of the risk of serotonin syndrome which can be fatal.

    I tried this as part of an Anti-estrogenic diet I was advised to follow following some pretty severe physical and mental health problems. Having had issues with lowering the dose of my anti-depressant drugs, this helped me cope with the revised dose and come off the drugs all together. I keep taking it and have not had any re-lapses and feel fab. It is really easy to mix and is a little bit sweet so can be taken straight from the scoop, in a protein shake or mixed into porridge/yoghurt. Truly excellent!

    There are many studies that show inositol as a useful aid for the treatment but I feel it is my duty to reply the previous comment that it MUST not be used in conjunction with SSRI's as there is a high risk of serotonin syndrome.
