Overview

Essential Whey 60 is a premium grade whey protein concentrate, cold filtered to provide 60% protein content. In comparison to higher protein content products such as Impact Whey Isolate and Impact Whey Protein, Essential Whey 60 offers a more balanced ratio of protein and carbohydrates. This product offers exceptional value for money and has a great mixing and taste profile. We guarantee you won't find the same high quality of protein at a lower price anywhere else in Europe*!

Our Essential Whey 60 provides over 18g of protein per 30g serving and is particularly low in fat, whilst the carbohydrate content makes it an excellent option for those looking to add bulk and lean mass. Whey protein concentrate has the highest known Biological Value (BV) of any known protein source, ensuring your body utilises the protein you consume to help with tissue building, muscle recovery and bone health. Whey protein also contains high levels of both essential and non-essential Amino Acids which aid in the development and growth of new and existing body tissue.

This premium quality whey protein concentrate has been produced to ensure no denaturing of the protein occurs during manufacture, ensuring you get the best possible impact from the amino acid content. It contains no genetically modified organisms whilst the cows used to produce the milk are not provided with any growth enhancers. Essential Whey 60 is 100% whey protein concentrate and contains no other ingredients.

Traceability is a key part of our quality monitoring process and to aid this process we work with dedicated European whey suppliers so that we are able to control the supply of whey right back to the source.

The amino acid profile can be found at the bottom of the page under 'Certificates'.

Great for recovery and putting on health weight without all the additives of other mixtures. Previous reviews were right in saying that this protein foams up very quickly. However the foam settles better when mixed with water. The 'unflavored' taste is OK and in relation to it's cost, it's worth the sacrifice. I used to buy and do prefer Impact Whey, but due to finance this product stands out and offers a great protein/carbohydrate ratio for efficient recovery.

mixability is poor i mix it with 250 or 300ml of milk and it foams and dosent seem to settle at all i have to eat the stuff, taste is ok i like the unflavoured whey tastes like creamy milk, i havent been useing whey 60 long enough to realy comment on it but so far it seems to be aiding recovery ok,i normally use true whey or total peptide but 5kg of this stuff for under 30 pounds u cant go wrong so will be buying this stuff again at that price.
  • Goes well with which Myprotein products:

Mixability is a bit poor if you use a shaker however if you use a spoon or something similar it mixes just fine, as for taste it is fantastic, fantastic product for the price!!!!

Mixed with 200ml of water, a cup of oats and a spoonful of peanut butter its extremely tasty and the consistency of the peanut butter helps it mix. Add in a few spoonfuls of mint hot-chocolate powder and its a gorgeous desert-like treat. Protein / carb ratio is perfect for a post-workout shake. Amazing quality for the price. Would certainly recommend.

Mixes fine when added after the milk or water in the max blender bottle. Tastes great. Top product and would recommend to anyone looking for a good cheap protein.

I love this protein for two reasons: 1. it's cheap; 2. it tastes rich and milky! RICH AND MILKY. OK, it doesn't mix as well as Impact Whey, but if you give it a good stir with a fork you get there in the end. Plus, when stirring you get a froth that wouldn't look out of place on a latte. The taste is something else though - impossible to describe but highly addictive as my wife will testify - she keeps quaffing the stuff!

I am comparing with with Impact Whey Protein as that is all I have used in the past but this product is as poor as Impact is excellent. I'm not able to comment on the nutritional aspects of it but it's mixability is atrocious. It seems to be very 'gluey'. In a shaker a good portion is left on the bottom of the shaker, and when used with a hand blender another good portion sticks to the hand blender. It reminds me of the bad old days of proteins in the 80's! Also, it has an odd, slightly bitter taste and fizzes up when mixed. My recommendation would be to avoid this like a bargepole and go for the Impact Whey Protein. Unfortunately I have ten kilos to get through!

Ordered early tuesday morning, before 10 and got it on Thursday morning, and I live in Ireland so that was great service with the delivery. The protein itself is cheap but didnt really notice superb results but then again what else would you expect from a cheap protein...doesnt mix too well and gets quite foamy. Taste is too bad,got unflavoured and raspberry drops, drops tasted horrible so just took the protein like that, not too bad really(tastewise). So service from MyProtein = Excellent the protein itself not the best, better to invest in a more expensive one really.

Bit lower in protein content but how much can I absorb anyway :) Work really well for me. Take a couple of scoops pre and post workout and seen good results. I have tried just about all the types of protein sold here and this is as good as any. Oh it's cheap too :) Everybody's different and different things work for different people. Find your own things that work for you!!! This works for me...

It is good! when mixing it sometimes sticks to the ball a bit but it is no big deal, there is only 18g of protein but it has no soya in and is just whey protein which is excellent! SO GOOD OVERALL

This stuff is great for me. A good mix of protein, and carbs for bulking. Taste is ok considering it's unflavoured, mixing is ok too. Yes you can buy better tasting, better mixing, but its less than £30 for 5kg, so what do you expect. Will continue to order at this price!

Was using a similar product from another brand which was a lot more expensive, this is great value for money, tastes fine when mixed with milk and does the job. Does take a bit of mixing though, have ended up have to use an electric whisk, but that is only a tiny set back.

Ordered Friday, arrived Monday morning. Can't argue with that! Anyway, the product. I've tried many different makes of protein powders, most are just gimmicky, so now just settle for basic whey protein. This is what Essential Whey 60 is. I tried it this afternoon post workout mixed with water. No real taste as such but pleasant enough to drink. If you require taste, I suggest mixing with milk or add a drop of fruit based cordial to the water mix. For the price per KG this is a real bargain and its really just the same stuff as the more expensive makes. I ordered 5kg and will go on ordering at this price.

Straight to the point. 1)Value for money 2)Taste is okay just like NIDO powder 3)Does not mix well with cold liquid tryed milk and water 4)Does the job, being vegetarian requires lots of supplement intake if you want to keep fit without being too slim. Anyway happy with product will carry on buying, enough of well known brands rip off prices.

This is a great product for those wanting a few extra carbs to help gycogen synthesis post work out. However, from a purely protein point of view, Impact Whey protein is a better buy as Impact Whey Protein is £8.78 per kg of protein whereas Essential Whey 60 is £9.72 per kg of protein when both are bought in 5kg bags. All in all, this has slightly more carbs and slightly less fat but the difference is virtually nothing. This fact coupled with the fact Impact Whey Protein is far cheaper per kg of protein makes Impact Whey Protein the better purchase by a mile.

I added 2 soops (60g/36g protein) to 300ml skimmed milk. It foamed up like nothing else!! As soon as I started shaking it foamed so much that there was hardly any liquid moving around in the shaker! Thankfully after a couple of minutes rest it settled back into a drinkable liquid. As for the taste, well it ain't exactly nice! But then it could be worse I guess! I put 3 teaspoons of chocolate Nesquik in but it made it kinda mingin so will go to Morissons later and get some regular chocolate and strawberry milkshake mix. Ultimately it's the cheapest protein your'e gonna find, and you can get over 40 shakes at 38g protein (2 scoops) so is well worth it. I've rated it a 3 because its a bit awkward to use but you can't beat the value for money.

This is essentially a great product, but be aware of the much lower protein content compared to say Impact Whey, compensated here by much higher carbohydrate content. This is perfect if you're looking to bulk, but is probably best avoided if you're looking to just gain muscle, and definitely if you want to loose weight and make lean gains. That said, it mixes well, tastes fine with flavDrops, and CANNOT be beaten on value for money. A great buy for bulkers.

You cannot beat this deal. 5kgs for £29 is exceptional value for money. The only niggle is that the mix foams heavily. I use the MP shaker for mine and it can be quite gassy - I literally have to eat the foam to ensure I get the maximum protein intake. However this review is with milk and not water. Taste is good too but you can always add a sprinkle of Nesquik to take the edge of it.
  • Goes well with which Myprotein products:
    Milk
